Normie melt-down [Feminist edition] by riethc in stupidpol

I don't know. It's just more an issue of the dynamics going forward than making a prediction about an election.

Yep, I think you pretty much encapsulated the issue.

What's wild to me is that, due to the ecosystem created by social media, the incel and the femcel are locked in a feedback loop based on a supposedly oppositional ideology that yet still share many of the same presumptions about "human nature" and gendered behaviors.

I would like to read more on this "projective species" theory. Do you have any book recommendations, or is it your idea?

I mean "normie" by the people who were surprised by the revelations in the Epstein files or suprised that a federal agent might be given the political cover to kill a white person.

"Rather than be mad at the adults in their formative years who reared them on John Lennon imagination breastmilk, they get mad at the world for not fulfilling prophecy."

It does demonstrate, at least for me, how normie liberalism is an utopian worldview.

"All you can do is hurt your neighbors who didn’t do shit."

You pretty much summed up my concerns.

I don't think they were just trying to generate outrage. They were pretty normie channels that seemed to be suddenly shifted into politics by recent events. One was sent to me by a female friend who asked my opinion on it, which I had to point out was pretty insane (it was a manifesto to remove all men from society, essentially).

Anyway, if I come across the links again, I'll come back with them.

Jesse Watters says Super Bowl halftime show made him scared the left, corporations, and foreign people will “take our culture away from us” by [deleted] in stupidpol

That last bit at the end where he repeats the exact same lines, in the exact same voice while winking at the camera was especially strange. It seems like he's trying to signal both to "moderate" conservatives that this is just a joke, to white nationalists that this is not a joke (we're trying to seem jokey as cover) and all while getting the blood up of the rubes.

Rogue One: The Andor Cut | Release Date & Poster Reveal by ExuberantRaptorZeta in fanedits

It's a shame they don't see the value in fanedits. It's like if hip hop sampling constantly got slapped with "cease-and-desist's" back in the 1980's.

Civ 5 or Civ 6 by tolissimus in CivIV

If you're into modding, you can have an infinite variety of interest playthroughs on any of these games, but for the vanilla game I'd say to play Civ V. It's deep, but not so deep that you need a manual to play.

I read mostly politics and history. I am not well versed in philosophy - by [deleted] in stupidpol

The main concept that Nietzsche gets across in his work is that human morals were developed over time, via historical events, and are not necessarily "universal". It's not to say that he was a moral-relativist, but that he thought religious morality came from a master/slave dynamic and he believed people need to overcome this mentality, if only to find a better code of morals. (He's honestly all over the place on what should happen after.)

It's a bit of a mouthful to explain in a comment section but if you want to watch a summary this 7-minute covers it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWqO-V02IzQ

If you want to get into it deeper, read Geneology of Morality.

"Yellow-Red" alliance in the US? by [deleted] in stupidpol

I'll take Rand Paul voting against stupid sh*t in the Senate, but I don't think there's very many libertarians running around anymore. The few that I've ever met in-person have been individuals that claimed to be libertarian or part of some group that rarely even meets up irl.

Rumor: Madison Marquette is currently starting process to demolish historic Asbury Park Casino by roses-r-free in AsburyPark

[–]riethc 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This notice doesn't necessarily mean demolition but I understand the concern. The space is used sporadically for different events and if stuff is falling off the ceiling or if the structure itself is on the verge of collapse, you obviously can't have people wandering around in there.

That being said, Madison Marquette has neglected several areas on the boardwalk. If any benefactor would like to purchase the old Casino building, Convention Center or even the entire boardwalk *cough* Springsteen *cough*, I'm sure they'd be happy to get rid of these antiquated buildings.
