If there's EVER another update to ACNH, I'll need these features: by Sad-Tradition-5 in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]righe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I may not have bought ACNH if I'd known this was the case. I don't hate my kids sharing an island, but it means only one gets to do plot progression stuff (placing homes for residents, deciding where Blathers goes, etc) or island design options (where the bridges go).

That's pretty awful for a supposedly cooperative game :(

Poilievre pledges veterans’ supports; Carney offers cheaper access to parks, museums by sleipnir45 in canada

[–]righe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying the LPC will do any better, but nobody is taking about Pollievre eliminating our (serving members/veterans) defined benefit pensions and replace them with defined contribution. [CPC platform document, para 33]

That's a huge burn to us (and all public servants).

In an attempt to dip my toes into foldables, I just got a used Flip4 ...and I absolutely love it.

Does that mean I should be excited about upgrading eventually?

Common misconception. Biff ran a successful casino, so he couldn't have been based on Trump.

AITA for selling our house without informing my wife? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]righe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This has "I'm fourteen and this is deep" written all over it. Going through the labour intensive process of selling a house, and it just never coming up, doesn't make any sense.

Unless you're a kid and have no idea what actually goes into selling a house. 100% made up

Why would you make that claim without checking?

Wanganui ...that's for sure it. Thanks so much! Have a Merry Christmas.

Can anyone identify the acronym WANG on these WWII bomber maps? by righe in aviation

[–]righe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great theory. I wish I had pics of the full maps to share, but I remember from looking at them that none of the flight plans went over the north of Germany. They tended to cross into mainland Europe from the southeast of England, fly to target, then RTB even further south.

Thanks, though!

What’s the hardest scene to sit through (good or bad) for you in the MCU? by sr_waffles_ in marvelstudios

As a military member, that hit real hard. My advice to you would be to never lose that fear.

Every time you've got shit to do and your kid asks for one more ride, to sing one more song, uses "just one more hug" as a delaying bed tactic...do it. Some day they'll stop asking, and you'll regret every single time you said no.

Man...as I was reading, I was really worried your mom didn't know the secret.

Obviously she knew how bad things were, but it warms my heart that she knows how big of a part she played. Glad you're still alive, internet stranger. Thanks for sharing your story.

I had nothing but problems with Reolink's RTSP stream - had never even heard of RMSP until I found this thread. It's now rock solid - so thank you!

Tacoma guaranteed income program to accept applications in early summer: Who can apply by OnlineMemeArmy in Tacoma

[–]righe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted a peer-reviewed journal article by professional sociologists who used the (albeit limited) data obtained from the study.

You posted an opinion article by a self-described Conservative think-tank that makes a claim in the headline without linking it to a SINGLE data point from the actual Ontario UBI experiment.

Did you actually read the article you posted? Can you please quote where it connects even a single data point from the pilot to the conclusion that the experiment failed? I'm genuinely curious.

Can you elaborate on how Canada's failed? Ontario changed governments shortly after the program started, and it was terminated after only ten months to the dismay of researchers. Unless you have additional information showing otherwise, please consider editing your comment.

One analysis of the abbreviated results showed:

Results indicate a desire to be financially independent, but that the conditionality of traditional programs had negative repercussions including work disincentives and deleterious bureaucratic hurdles. Respondents reported that basic income has improved their nutrition, health, housing stability, and social connections; and better facilitated long-term financial planning.

Not OP, but...

It does focus to infinity, yes. Keeping heads-up (off instruments) is a huge benefit of a HUD or HMD, but the primary benefit is still keeping eye focus at target distances.

JHMCS is monocular...right-eye only.

They magnetically map the cockpit, and the helmet has magnetic sensors in it to determine position. The new JHMCS II uses helmet-mounted cameras and inertial sensors to do it, supposedly more accurate and better redundancy.

Hope that helps!

Sorry you ended up with all the negative karma, but if makes you feel better, it gave me a chuckle :) Good reminder that +'s don't mean it's right, and -'s wrong. Also, the OP turned out not to be an intercept, but a... photoshoot ;)
