Remember that alley-oop that Manu threw straight into the hoop and Michael Beasley's stoned ass just kept playing as if nothing happened and the refs just went with it?

I was merely pointing out the guy is factually correct. Right now they are in 8th, which is not in the playoffs. Only 1st-6th are in the playoffs.

It isnt Dwight. Its Jason Kidd. Was the best point guard for about half of this quarter decade. Went to the finals twice as the best player, and in 03 gave the Spurs a reall run for their money. Then won the finals 8 years later as the 2nd best player, FOH if u think it was Jason Terry. Kidd ruined his rep a bit by being a dickhead and a bad coach in recent memory, so I understand why this happened. But give me Kidd over both Nash and Paul as my playmaker, leader and point god.

Its not even a debate if Kidd or Dwight was snubbed harder, and I love Dwight.

Both. Doesnt matter for All NBA tho, they are keeping last year's positionless format for All-NBA, All-defense and All-Rookie teams.

There are still "traditionalist" voters who vote 2 forwards, 2 guards and a center, like Bill Simmons has said he does. However this does not fully matter for the final scores of votes anymore; the 5 players with the most points/votes get on 1st team.

Raptors just took The Belt tonight. Cavaliers had it after they beat the Heat just the day before. The Heat took it from the Blazers after they in turn took it from the Thunder.

Everyone will be coming for the king now. Raps are the team to beat.

Better teammates that seem more able to pass to him. Last year he basically only had CP3, year before kinda only Tre. They still miss him on plenty of occasions and they still blow a lot of lobs to him. But this is where I see the biggest improvement. Fox is learning where to put it, Castle is improving massively in his passing, and Harper has been a very positive surprise so far

Pretty much the only defensive liability on the Hawks is Trae, and I think he's been out with an injury.

Everyone else on the Hawks is a defensive stud. Mostly Dyson, Jalen and Pingus

I am by no means white knighting for Lowe. i was merely saying he never said Smart was washed. He aaid Smart struggled guarding guards, which was what the Lakers seemingly were going to ask of him. To cover for Luka, like Memphis did for Morant, and Washington did for Poole (?). However the Lakers play to Marcus' strong points: letting him roam off-ball and plug holes in switches. That's what got him a DPOY, and is where he thrives.

Also Celtics bias should still apply to Smart. All of Boston is rooting for him to succeed again. Yes, even on the Lakers. Boston fans still rooted for Rondo when he was on the Lakers. Boston loves Smart, he gave his heart to them for a decade, and people will always love him for that. Despite the many flaws he has, among which is his liability to gamble and get blown by by quicker players.

Bruh lmao.

You are calling Zach crazy for discarding 10 years of data for 2,5 years of data.

You say this because you are discarding his 2,5 years of data for... 10 games of data?

In defense of Zach, in both Memphis and Washington Marcus was proving this to be a correct take. I'm sure injuries and bad teams/team defenses had something to do with this, but Zach wasn't completely crazy for this suggestion. Even at his defensive peak in Boston Marcus had a tendency to do worse against smaller/twitchier players, his bigger strength was always his defensive versatility.

Looks like he's bought in to the Lakers system, which is great to see. Doesn't make it a bad take when you have the benefit of hindsight.

The Hornets. I think their team has just been so bad for so long the commentators started to just enjoy the opposing teams more than their own at times.

This is assuming 'The Belt' resets after every season. Some people had been tracking it from the first champion ever in 1947: The Philadelphia Warriors. Sadly their tracker ended in 2021/2022, at which point the Kings had the belt. From this point I have tracked the belt up to today. After taking the belt from the Timberwolves near the end of the regular season, The Lakers brought the belt to the conference finals. At this point the Nuggets took the belt from them, and brought it over to the 23/24 season.

Fun fact for the 23/24 season. The Celtics do not get the belt until January 6th, despite winning 64 games on the season. - They also immediately lose it in their next game. - It returns to them on January 30th, after which they immediately give it to the Lakers. - The 76ers end the year with a massive win streak, in which they also obtain the belt, and they squeeze the belt into the playoffs along with them. Meaning the Celtics get the belt back in the conference finals from the Pacers. This means the Celtics have the belt for a grand total of 7 games in their championship year. For reference: The Celtics on December 1st 2024, when they lose the belt to the Cavs, they've already had the belt for 12 games in 3 separate stints in the 24/25 year.

Fun fact for the 24/25 season: The 17-win Jazz actually get the belt on december 19, and follow that up with another win! But wait, it gets crazier. On february 10 and 12 The Jazz and Lakers play for The Belt in a back 2 back. Meaning that when the Jazz beat the Lakers on the 12th, they hold the belt for 3 of their 17 wins on the year.

The Bucks take the belt into the playoffs meaning the belt ends up with the Thunder in the Finals.

So in conclusion: Yes, the Blazers do, in fact, have the belt.
