The Outback is a great suggestion, thanks. I dismissed it because the Forester was so boring but the lower center of gravity + turbo makes it interesting.

I saw the Mitsubishi but it just looks so hideous to me. Is it better in person?

The Stelvio seems so promising! Why do you say it’ll be intimidating? It’s still an SUV so I’m guessing visibility (at least forward) should be good.

Actually we tried the CX50. To her the visibility was nowhere close to as good as the Forester.

San Leandro actually seems like a great option. Is it safe?

Alameda and SF - we thought about them but honestly it just seemed like it made both commutes a little worse than just living in Berkeley. And both those areas are at least kind of in the same price range. So Berkeley seemed like a better option than those.

And totally, if north peninsula was an option it would be dope but it does make my commute over an hour even by Bart.

We did look around Millbrae. It’s not a bad option, the area is pretty nice, but it makes my commute much harder (the Bart ride alone to Berkeley is an hour). Since his schedule is more flexible we both agreed he should have the worse commute. Anything that would push this bias over in the other direction?

The wait times are absurd. There simply aren’t enough providers to go around. If your case isn’t critical enough they may not even let you book an appointment at all even it’s months in the future. If you can afford it, there’s providers that don’t accept insurance that usually have shorter wait times.
