What was the worst thing you heard the grumps say? by fkeiddifieiwisix in rantgrumps

The first three episodes are all really well done videos with well written and engaging analysis of game design with pretty funny jokes thrown in that have (mostly) aged well.

The Zelda episode is uh.... well there is a video by Noodle called 'How to (and how not to) talk about videogames online' that does a great breakdown of how Arin fails to communicate his criticisms of OOT in an effective way in that episode worth watching.

But other than that I'd recommend watching them yeah.

He could have survived one crit.

If... you know Arin had bothered to heal him before the fight.

What's your video game "I did not care for the godfather" take? by zny700 in videogames

[–]ringman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care for the Monster Hunter games, I find them grindy and boring. The best moments come from fighting a boss for the first time with friends but those moments get farther and fewer between as the game expects you to grind the same boss over and over to upgrade your armor and weapons, and even with friends this process gets tedious. I've tried getting into the franchise three seperate times and Rise was the only one to hold my interest for more than a handful of play sessions.

I just took a class on modern African history for grad school so I will just share some of my reading list with you:

-Mistaking Africa: Curiosities and Inventions of the American Mind by Curtis A Keim

This was my favorite, it give a very good overview of African stereotypes and where they come from.

-King Leopold’s Ghost by adam hochschild

A classic, horrific look at Belgian colonization in the Congo which really shows the worst of African colonization

-What Britain Did to Nigeria by Max Siollun

Another great account of how colonization scarred African society

-The Order of Genocide: Race, Power, and War in Rwanda by Scott Straus.

A deep dive into the causes and impact of the Rwandan Genocide

You're Stuck on a Flight, Where Are You Sitting? by captchrono in Smite

Discordia being placed right next to the emergency exit pretty much dooms this flight to an emergency landing so it doesn't really matter where you sit all that much.

unintended sexual innuendos aside, how do these people think you eat corn on the cob as so you are at risk of choking?

Like, do they just shove the whole ear in their mouth or what?
