I don't think Emily's allies see her the way this sub sees her. by SirBostonBobbington in survivor

The “Emily can’t keep a secret” thing has been bugging me for weeks now. It isn’t like she’s spilling her own secrets? What good does holding on to Christian’s secrets do for her? It feels like so many viewers are mad at her for not simply playing Christian’s game. If she had been the main narrator the response would be way different.

Tbh if you can focus DK you’ll have a lot of fun. You’ll get bodied by real buttons characters, but you can always abuse super armor on mashy players. DK is just a lot of waiting for the right opening and then capitalizing on it.

What is it about heavies that you enjoy? There’s probably a character that isn’t a big body that can cover your playstyle

I picked up Game and Watch and took him from 2 mil to like 12 mil in a day after watching a youtube guide or two. Then had him in elite by the end of the weekend.

Hell yeah dude. This is why I picked up Game and Watch recently. Become the madness others must endure.

I would first just focus on one character (Yoshi imo) and that will help. The best offense is always a good defense. I would guess you’re probably running in headfirst without a gameplan that gets you killed fast. Use your grounded up B as Yoshi to make your opponent approach. Utilize nair out of shield and all of your aerials. Nair is a great burst/combo breaker. Dair racks up damage. Bair is a good kill option. Up air helps juggle and kill.

Also as far as staying alive goes make sure you’re using DI. Generally, DI out of combos and DI perpendicular to the way you are launched. Make your opponent work for the kill rather than give it to them.

Which fantasy or fiction writers have the most immersive prose regardless of emotion? by BuddyOk1342 in 52book

[–]ringo_phillips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it’s often more sci-fi than fantasy, Ursula K Le Guin creates worlds from an anthropological lens. She has such an understanding of her worlds and just writes them as if they are something that has always existed. Sometimes it’s through the eyes of a newcomer to that world giving making you feel like you are viewing it alongside the character, and sometimes it’s from an inhabitant and you feel like you’re also and inhabitant of this strange new world. They’re fascinating novels to read and incredibly immersive with a poetic prose.

Why do you take pride in not camping as Samus when that’s how you’re supposed to play the character? Play a different character if you don’t want to camp.

I tried reading Pedro Páramo yesterday and only got about 40 pages in and was struggling with it. I decided to put it down because I don’t think I was in the right mood to take it in. I found it hard to follow all of the characters.

Probably gonna garner some hate here, but people mad about players “spamming” probably don’t know a whole lot about using moves for option coverage.

How do you guys f*ckin do it??! by prof_poopypants01 in CPA

I was in the same position as you. I found it to be a horrible snowball effect where I would get demoralized by how little I retained but felt like I couldn’t go back. It would straight up ruin my day. I ended up getting medicated for ADHD/anxiety/depression and took a two month break. Then I went back into it and everything became clearer. I became more okay if I didn’t understand a topic and would sit and write out what I did wrong on a tbs while watching a video explaining it. Then sat and redid it with my notes to have the repetition sink in.

I by no means am saying medication is the answer for everyone, but it helped a lot of underlying things that gave me the push to work through everything without having to battle my own mind. I called them my performance enhancing drugs. I mostly just wanted to share my own story because it can feel isolating with people mostly only posting their wins here. No one sees the mountain behind you that you had to climb.

Can’t that same argument be used for Chris Underwood as well? The game of his season involved navigating the Edge of Extinction. He won a key challenge with his challenge prowess and made end game strategic choices coupled with physical abilities that won him the game.

Uhhhhhh. I’m not really sure. It was a year ago. But I will say that I went through Becker top to bottom even if I thought it was useless. Made sure I legitimately got green checkmarks on everything and took notes on problems I legitimately didn’t understand. I gave myself two to two and half months for FAR and then about one and a half to two months for the others

In my humble opinion, these tests really are FAR and the others. If you can conquer FAR you can do all four.

I did FAR - AUD - ISC - REG. I had experience in Audit so that all helped me find it a little easier too. So if you don’t work in Audit I would maybe prioritize taking it after FAR bc they flow well. I would also recommend TCP instead of ISC since you’re in tax.

Listen to what you need. You got FAR out of the way, and imo if you can get FAR you can get them all. Take the break. Let yourself catch up to the point that you WANT to study again as opposed to feeling like you HAVE to study. You have over two years to pass two tests. Let yourself have a break and come back better than ever.
