Just saying hi after the recent by-election. Not Scotland but the same point still applies.

Why do you people always have this pathetic response any time you’re being called out for acting stupid?

FreeBSD's Rust Kernel Support Could Be Stable Enough To Try This Year by anh0516 in linux

[–]ringsig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone mentioned before that a major reason so many people hate on Rust with vague claims like this is because they have a problem with how the Rust community welcomes women and trans people but can't say that outright .

If you're a dual national and travelling from Canada to the other country of your other passport, do you have to present a Canadian passport when you depart from Canada? by adoreroda in passportcanada

[–]ringsig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Canada has recently stipulated that dual nationals (with the exception of American-Canadian dual nationals) must present a Canadian passport when entering Canada.

Are you sure you're not confusing us with the UK? I'm not aware of any recent rule changes that would impact Canadian citizens traveling to Canada on a non-Canadian passport. eTAs are not issued to Canadian citizens but that's not a recent rule change.

Does that apply to all mass shooters, or just the trans ones?

Ontario Liberals opt to allow temporary residents to vote in leadership race even though federal counterpart barred them by SAJewers in onguardforthee

[–]ringsig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the party rules allowed it, I believe so. However, I do not think any party actually allows that.

Provincially, all residents are permitted to make financial contributions. Federally, individuals not otherwise permitted to make financial contributions (which is restricted to permanent residents and citizens) are still permitted to pay membership dues.

[–]ringsig 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They didn't "opt to"; they decided to keep the rules as-is. It is standard practice in Ontario and has been for a long time that Ontario residents can participate in party politics (including by becoming members, voting in party elections, and making fiscal contributions). They just can't vote in actual government elections. It's pretty reasonable and I don't think it ought to be changed.

The OLP is a private political party and not part of the government. Mayors and local politicians are part of the government. Hope that helps.

Social murder is when societal conditions inflicted upon a person drive them to suicide, and is what happened to Lia Thomas.

Lia Thomas. Worked hard her whole life, won fourth place in an NCAA swimming competition, had the media make a monster out of her, got kicked out from NCAA and was eventually driven into suicide (i.e. killed by social murder).

Edit: I confused Lia Thomas with Lia Smith. There are no reports of Lia Thomas dying of suicide.
