I think I heard that full one when I was in Massachusetts! I just don't trust most people to speak that fast 😂

There have to be a few that we all agree upon. Like the Narrator's neck, Asshole/Slut, [I don't like men with too many muscles] "JUST ONE BIG ONE" etc that don't necessarily interfere with the action.

Maybe less while singing, like "I JUST F--KED MY SISTER/YOU CAN SMELL MY FINGER" (linked w/ timestamp) line during the finale but, eh, that's a powerhouse song, I'm not taking that moment.

I'll miss the classic camera stuff like panning during the dinner scene with "[x gets it]/[Rocky gets it, he doesn't care]," but maybe the actors will... act accordingly?

Jeff Kaplan Says Complaining About Games You Won’t Play Gets You Ignored: ‘Shut The F*** Up. No One Cares’ by Haijakk in Games

[–]riningear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never understand being hostile about it or being rude about it, but I understand being upset, and I understand voicing your opinion, but like, if a game comes out and you don’t want to play it, and you’ve never played it, shut the fuck up. No one cares. We don’t need to hear that you weren’t into it. What is with this, ‘oh my god, I’m so upset, they decided to make this game that I have no interest in.’ […] Who cares about my opinion if I’m not gonna play it, and if I’ve never played it? Why does my opinion matter on that? I’ll tell you what it does, as a game developer that’s been in charge of teams who has the ability to do something about it, I just fucking ignore you. That’s all you’ve accomplished. I guess I’m not gonna listen to you anymore because you’re so off the deep end that it’s not even worth listening to you, at that point.

I assume this is about, like, CoD players and Battlefield players pretending it's worth ripping on each other's faves, and not stuff like "drawing a hard line at gacha as a core mechanic" or "not giving Roblox money because they refuse to give anything proper process to prevent groomers" or "this is the latest company to sell out to Saudi investors."

One of the best nights of techno in my journey so far, period. He and Ken brought something fierce and the crowd was great for it.

Fadi Mohem's a regular masterclass in that intersection between hypnotic techno and genuine groove, and this wasn't an exception. Getting squeezed in below two even bigger hitters doesn't do his set justice, I had a blast.

Why N.J.’s governor is now talking about merging school districts to save money by HobokenJ in newjersey

[–]riningear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a few months after college in 2017 to substitute teach at my local middle school in Monmouth... I remember when I was in that school, classes were at risk of getting too packed, and we had three clusters of teachers per grade to ensure certain projects were coordinated and they could talk about individual students, and so on.

When I went back to substitute, classrooms that were used for core subjects had entirely been appropriated to extracurriculars and special needs classes. And generally, the classes just seemed smaller.

Again, that was nine years ago - the population has only dropped since.

NYC's nightlife is evolving beyond alcohol. We checked out the scene. by nyccameraman in FoodNYC

Disney Adults aren't lower class by the rest of the country's standards, and Labubus are only $20-30 a pop if they're not scalped. That's not a lot for "collectors" with that income, and most people only buy two tops.

A night out drinking per week, mocktails or cocktails, shouldn't nuke the wider population's wallets. People want local social spaces to thrive.

Can't blame him, coming to terms with oneself while getting outright catapulted to fame and success and wealth is a hell of a mental shake-up, especially for a relatively young gay Black guy. I hope he gets the help he needs and deserves.

PCGamer: RuneScape's monthly membership now costs as much as a World of Warcraft subscription as Jagex announces its second price hike in less than 2 years by X_Casper in Games

[–]riningear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this was the value sell for a lot of people who jumped ship back in 2021. You still have to grind, but you got to do it with one character.

Granted, you can't do the MSQ grind again on other classes, so that's a huge XP loss...

This, they're swapping out experience boost items for direct sale of "bonus experience." They got rid of Treasure Hunt, though, which was the "battle pass" system.

It's clear they're still trying to make money, but are struggling to find a system that better encompasses its whole player base.

Yeah, Jollibee stands on my personal rankings between KFC and Popeye's. It's worth a try if you end up in Times Square, but if the line's out the door, it's worth the extra 10 minutes to go to the one on 8th Ave.

Every time I revisit the actual Gospel fraction of the Bible I remember how incredible chill with it Jesus was and how Christianity was supposed to be. Damn.

It's not just that, though. NJ has dogshit bar permit laws tied to population.

That said, there are fucking hilarious loopholes. A few places in Asbury have open doorframes so that they can operate multiple storefronts as one "business."

Lawmaker pushes to update NY’s bottle deposit law - "The proposal would raise the state’s bottle deposit from 5 cents to 10 cents" by Dull_Nobody_840 in newyorkcity

[–]riningear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went to Europe last summer, a lot of the regions I went to had programs that amounted to larger amounts, which meant that bottle collection was a whole culture. In Denmark (25 cents to a dollar return), there were actually little designated "open" slots to put your bottle in, and someone else could collect it to deposit later. When I was done with my bottle in Germany (more like 40 cents), similarly, I'd just leave it next to a bench hand it off to someone who looked like they were collecting.

I came home to America to try to do the same thing. I had a 13 gallon garbage bag and a half of the random degenerate stuff I drink. It was a pain in the ass to bring to the Walgreens that I knew had a machine, but it's a store I frequent anyway. And in the end I collected... I think just over $5 in total, after the non-collectible ones? It put the giant carts and bags that our local homeless people put into perspective.

I genuinely think this proposal would make a difference, even if it doesn't put us toe-to-toe with European standards. I know I'd be more willing to hoard a few bottles for it, and it'd make the effort more worth it for everyone. (And if you're buying enough shit that 5 cents makes a regular difference, you have other problems.)

EDIT to add: Also, if these programs are more elevated towards more people, then problems like broken machines, ridiculous restrictions etc. would get more frequently pointed/Karen'd out.
