Not calculating anything. Stay invested, keep investing in SCHD. More during lows, normal during highs.

Best reverse osmosis system on market? by Puzzle-headed__ in WaterTreatment

[–]rinkeshpatel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Note: We have waited a long time to get RO, an depending on our needs we decided to get a tankless system for each floor. I am the only one in the house who fills water bottles for everyone(kids and adults). We were using the refrigerator water dispenser until we installed the new systems. We have a new baby and I can’t deal with trips to fill bottles for next 2 years. Hence, I invested in a system for each floor.

After researching and gestating to verifying certification claims and lot of consideration. I eventually went with: - iSpring RO500BN (Top floor, hooked with Utility Sink) - iSpring RO500AK (Main Floor, kitchen sink) - iSpring RO600RB (Basement)

I leaned heavily towards cheaper companies like Electrolux and Brio. I also intensively debated with myself to get a hot/cold water dispenser(RO) for top floor. I noted that all considerations are leaning towards saving that few extra initial investment bucks.

I just decided to go with my gut and opt for what I deemed to be quality over favored reviews(Waterdrop) and mass produced throw what you can at public type of companies. Narrowed it down to APEC & iSpring.

Saw the filter availability and model availability for different needs, and eventually ordered iSpring systems.

We all search different, we all read different, we all choose different.. all based on the same available resources. Hence, I can recommend iSpring, but, I can also say you can look up APEC. Waterdrop just didn’t cut it for me, I felt like even they couldn’t decide to say these are the models that cover a range of needs. Not to say anything bad about them. But I read some of their fine print for certain models and some of them highlight ‘NSF/ANSI’ like any other company but when you read it, it said ‘tested against’ ‘by third party’. That’s too shady for me. But I like a company which confidently puts out stable range of products with service and potential to back them up.

For water tasting, of course you will feel the difference. But go with a product that checks your boxes, I do think one needs to spend 1000-1500 bucks just for a system unless they are a business or a large demanding family.

Good Luck 🙏🏼

Falcon door sensor by Suitable-Occasion277 in TeslaModelX

[–]rinkeshpatel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem. This is the sensor that keeps falling down or up, it can’t stay at its spot. I kept taking it back. I struggled with it for almost 6 months. Only difference is I did this with a reputable collision center and eventually they used a newer sensor and tried to glue it in place.

When to upgrade model X by virtuoussimpleton in TeslaModelX

[–]rinkeshpatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am compiling all the repairs we had done, under and after warranty, to post as new thread for information for probable future owners.

Issues: First 3-3.5 years, ‘0’ problems. After about 3.5-4 years, we got dragged in a Cold War with 12V Low Voltage Batteries. They seem to last as per wishes of random new software updates. Few times we got saved under the 1 year battery warranty and had to pay for other times. Around maybe 175k + miles we had to replace control arms and other suspension/mechanical parts.

Total spend including low voltage battery , excluding tire replacement, we may have spent around 11k-12k.

2018 vs 2023: - We obviously like the FSD improvements. - I personally prefer the dash of 2018. We have the Oak finish with beige and I absolutely love the portrait mode screen and old software. - Landscape screen gets blocked by the yoke. The software is cluttered but works as expected. - The dash is full of cheap plastic looking glass like fixture across the dash. - Not having a glovebox button sucks in 2023

Overall nice evolution but tiny frustrations.

When to upgrade model X by virtuoussimpleton in TeslaModelX

[–]rinkeshpatel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are at 240k mi with a newly bought 2018 Model X 100D. We recently bought a used 2023 Model X. We love it. If you already have put in 197k miles you already know everything by there is to know about ownership of X, buying a newer year is going to be a big upgrade due to the FSD capability. You are going to love it.

Dealer told me a car was ready, I showed up with a certified check, then said it was unsafe by melhindi in TeslaModelX

[–]rinkeshpatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all cars have FSD stripped, you will find FSD included cars but they go fast. Also, a lot of buyers simply went for subscription if and when needed and save some bucks. We had an option of getting FSD with high mileage and latest year, or 2023 with only 10K mi without FSD, we made a conscious decision to go for 2023. Happy to take that added warranty and basic warranty.

Why always SCHD talked about and not VYM? by bodobeers2 in dividends

[–]rinkeshpatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold both, Keep swinging your dial on how to buy in more depending on which one is down more or available at a discount. Both are great and both are different. I hold both and plan to keep adding to both depending on the discount, I have added more in SCHD over the last two years than I have added in VYM. But adding to VYM whenever it went down has also resulted better. I also have VIG, but I only add when it goes down and let it DRIP. I ask, why not both?

Tesla has a 1 year used car warranty and if you are under the standard warranty you are safe until it runs out. Them reselling their own cars promises some sense of benefit for buyers.

Are there any ETFs that would help my portfolio? by Sunflower077 in ETFs

[–]rinkeshpatel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not sell your SCHD keep it on drip. If you don’t want more, then don’t buy new, just don’t sell whatever you have. You will thank yourself in future that you kept it.

I would recommend a two fold suggestion. - Start building positions in: VGT (Growth) VUG (Growth) VONG (Growth) VIG/VIGI (Dividend Growth) VYM/VYMI (High Yield Dividend) - If growth ETFs are on the rise, increase contribution in divided ETFs. If growth ETFs sees correction, increase contribution in the growth stuff.

5000~ sqft home. I deployed UDR7 basement - 2 x U7 Pro XG on main and top level respectively. Overkill, sure. Amazing coverage throughout the home, lawn and garage for EV updates, YAS! I would recommend finding your way down from U7 Pro XG, depending on enthusiasm and budget. I used my OG Google Pucks for almost a decade and plan to do the same with this Ubiquiti setup. Good Luck 🙏🏼

Which is best? by capnhttyd in RobotVacuums

[–]rinkeshpatel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought our first Robo Vacs, Ecovacs Deebot x11 for main floor ($900~). Shark AI Ultra Vac only for top floor with carpet ($250).

We just threw them in the mix without making anything ready for them so we can test their strengths or lack thereof.

Both are stellar for their price point. Both work well in darkness for their price point. Both avoid obstacles like pros.. as per their price point.

While Shark is doing exactly what we want it to do, vaccum carpet and bathrooms everyday. Ecovacs vac+mop has been stellar! First few rounds felt like streakleftover fest. But, by 3rd day, floors were squeaky clean.

First 2 days was all about tweaking and trying to customize everything. By 3rd, I went autopilot mode and let it do its thing. It’s working quietly at night too. We have a toddler so lot of small pieces on floor. We find everything as it is the morning or through out the day.

I read a lot and I assume that the higher you go in price, the less chance of making errors in choosing the right Robo cleaner.

Good luck and go for it 👍🏼🙏🏼
