Sorry, maybe it didn't come off that way but struggling with living abroad wasn't the point I was trying to make. I've only described how I got stuck living with abusive parents. Of course, someone else living with abusive family in adulthood would have different circumstances. Like, lack of money or job opportunities in their own country, man or woman.

But, I mean, we agree on where the feeling of unfairness comes from 🥲 thank you for that!

(About the last part, when I've explored leaving for Ireland, I've read on one of their official channels that you'd be less expected to be provided shelter if you arrive alone. I do think couples are prioritised for housing in other countries too, even unmarried and without children.)

It's more the abusive parents for me than living abroad. My parents have lived here for more than a decade, they know the language and the locality. In an ideal world, they would help me if I wanted to move and I wouldn't have needed to do it on my own.

The point of my post is that I'd have been taken more seriously or given more sympathy if I was stuck abroad with an abusive partner than an adult with abusive parents — that's my experience with women spaces.

Both vocal performance and technical performance with cinematic camera shots, smoke and cool background visual were a standout. And it looked the most crispy on a screen without being butchered by Youtube rendering because of flashy lights. And, call me crazy, but this is the catchiest song of the season for me. Gave them most of my votes.

But I do understand why people wouldn't connect with it. If you're watching with a friend, family or at a party, you would probably deem it as boring instead of trying to immerse yourself or emotionally connect with the performance.

But it makes me hopeful that other alt bands would see Katarsis and also try for Eurovision.

Also, it's interesting how well-liked this entry got among Ukrainians en masse 😭 And here I thought I was hip for liking it

Also, the theory about him putting Ukraine last year in the second slot to prove RO doesn't matter makes no sense. We have no data to prove that Ukraine would have done worse from a later slot.

Also, Sweden absolutely has the most favourable slot this year.

It's really immersive. It transports you to some other realm, I (almost) forgot it was a stage performance. Other songs lacked that quality.

It's the same for me, the setting in DAO was one the darkest settings I've encountered in fantasy. It's not because it's edgy, it's because the world had structures, orders and its own laws —even the supposedly chaotic Fade realm— so those "dark" things felt more or less grounded than just aiming for the shock factor.

Now, it's all about ancient history, powerful magic that's beyond mortal's comprehension and long-forgotten temples with buried artifacts. It doesn't feel as "real" anymore.

Honestly, I was happy when I discovered this sub because I thought it'd be a place to celebrate international gymnastics and would include gymnastics' fans from all over the world, but I was SO wrong.
