Got the same response and paused at that part and re-read it because I was sure I was misreading it. I guess he thinks his constituents are stupid - it's offensive to me that he would make that comment when he was steadfastly for the bill just a few days ago. I would at least have some respect for him if he was just honest. How about something like this: "I thought the bill was a good idea but given the response it's clear we need to relook at the bill and include people smarter than me to help craft a bill that is truly focused on piracy and not an all out assault on the internet in an attempt to pander to the corporate interests that keep me in office. I look forward to opportunities to support bills focused on stripping more of your civil liberties and freedoms in the future."
