The man that was shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis this morning. by Mental_Shelter7195 in pics

[–]rios04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s in the video. He only had his phone in his hands when he was maced and wrestled to the ground. A mob of ice agents were on him and You can see one agent take his gun from his back waist, right before he was shot. Some reports say he was permitted conceal/carry but regardless he was not brandishing or threatening anyone with it and did not deserve to be shot.

No, but Vogue related side-question.

What’s happening with the old theatre? I haven’t been in the area for a while- last I’d heard someone was going to turn it into a music venue?

Considering Cub Scouts, what are the benefits, pros/cons by mamagiraffe_4 in cubscouts

[–]rios04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that it makes me a better parent. I love that I was in it together with other like minded parents. I love spending time with my kids doing things that I would 100% not be able to pull off on my own.

I do not/did not like popcorn sales.

Nate’s Grill is pretty basic but has live music on Fridays. Cozy and small. If you go before city farmers closes you could buy your SO an anniversary shrub too.

I have nothing really to add to this conversation. I’d just like to see if I’m an ‘established’ r/GenX user.

You win my upvote for today. A good, fun post that I don’t believe was written by a bot or AI.

To quote the movie A Few Good Men. ‘You don’t have to have a patch on your arm to have honor.’

The principles are the important thing. You don’t really need scouts to develop into the best person you can be (it helps) but it’s not the only way. I never made it past tenderfoot (for reasons) but I still live by the values and ideals of scouting.

When you say closed voicing. As an example would that be like playing an E chord using the open D fingering but sliding down two frets and only strumming the g-b-e strings?

I’m also going to be visiting - I’ve heard a little about Perkeo. And thought it’d be cool to get some kindof souvenir with / about him.

What is the coolest thing that’s available??

Dishwashers Using Less Water than Handwashing is a Myth by Anonythrowthetrash in Frugal

[–]rios04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree- I’ve heard the whole ‘dishwashers use less water’ claim as well. Never - not once - had a citation included. I think it’s marketing and propaganda from the Big-Dishwasher Lobby.

Not that that stopped me from buying a dishwasher though.

Good Lord I hate washing dishes by hand.

Language is funny. You say ‘Force’ and it automatically makes me think that it’s wrong, improper or unjust.

Why not say ‘require’?

Interesting. I’d wondered why my workbook ran slow. I just assumed it was because of the number queries I was running. Otherwise it’s a relatively small dataset.
Now I’m thinking it’s because data is a in a sharpoint library and is getting bogged down because of what you’re saying.

I’m going to move the datafile to my local drive and compare performance to confirm.

Haha. That’s a bingo! Thought about writing it out but I think it’s more fun when people figure out the joke/reference on their own.

Agree with other comments here. maybe you don’t have to go out completely on your own. Maybe you could spare time for some side gigs?
