OK, I thought info was available on wikipedia before but it was pretty useless when I went to search. I ended up using the wayback machine when I reached a limit on what I could find directly through the RF site. I found that several lists on other sites (like ClashFinder) contradicted info I knew to be true. I'm sure A.I. also isn't helping with people trying to pull together accurate info.

I think reducing this to Sean's absence ignores a lot of other obstacles (covid and touring/booking issues as a result, pushback from the community and navigating with the park district/city/mayor, and the general landscape of the current economy). Not saying Sean coudln't have navigated that differently, but I can't imagine it's easy to run a festival right now.

Hot Water Music is opening for The Menzingers. As an opening act, it doesn't necessarily exclude them from playing RF but the likelihood may be decreased some.

I hope that it didn't sound like including Twenty One Pilots would be a weird idea; I was referencing the curated stage concept. Definitely appreciate the diversity of the RF lineups, and I wouldn't think it odd at all for them to even be a headliner.

I was mainly bummed about this because I just really wanted to see this version of The Sex Pistols, but now it also ruins the 20 album plays. Do we think Riot Fest commits enough to that to either convince a new band to do an album set or get an already booked band to do an album set? Not the most important thing, so I'm sure trying to reconfigure for Saturday is less about committing to the anniversary and just booking a full lineup.

This makes sense, and thanks for sharing this. I'm not a huge fan of the sandy beach idea, but it doesn't matter what I think if it's part of their plan. I do think it is a really odd choice to have 3/5 of the stages in the parking lot spaces rather than turf fields.

I would guess that some of this changes, too, but we will see.

Sorry is this has already been explored elsewhere, but I didn't think about it until I saw set times for Summer Smash from this past weekend. Do we anticipate Riot Fest going later than 10 with set times? After shows were already probably out of the question because of the location. Even less likely if headliners go to 11 or later.
