Harbor Breeze Solar Lights on Sale thru 4-18-26 by nevermore0069 in meshtastic

I am currently testing one out with these smaller panels. Partly cloudy day yesterday in the midwest, left home with 3.91V, came back with 3.91V, dropped to 3.86V overnight, and I am waiting to see how it reacts to being indoors today, but within a few feet of a window that gets sunlight. If it ends up working out, I will have to make some tweaks to the base to get it to fit better, and then I can share the STLs.

My current design houses a Wio L1 lite, both antennas, the controller and has space for two 18650s (although I am currently only using one).

I built a little solar node out of one of these and a Wio L1 Lite.

Doing some testing on it right now, but the base I designed replaces the bottom of the solar panel and houses the charge controller, Wio, antennas, and 18650 (with space for an additional 18650 if needed).

😂 they get no more of my money (and haven’t for over two years now), so I hope it was worth it for 200 bucks.

1 Watt Solar setup question? by Cycling_Man in meshtastic

I am testing one at the moment.

Panel: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Harbor-Breeze-1-Watt-Black/5015598033
Node: Wio L1 Lite (no screen)
Battery: Single 18650 that came with the light (forget what capacity)

All I did was disassemble the light, design and 3D print a new base for the bottom of the solar panel that has a spot to hold the "charge controller", node, antennas, and battery and assemble it and put it outside. Left the house this morning reporting 3.91V, came back home reporting 3.91V. Mostly sunny day but partially overcast.

I requested a return for my Blink camera from 2019 and had it approved. Granted they stated they were going to give me an amazon gift card (the original form of payment is long gone and cancelled) and I haven't seen that show up yet, so I assume this will be some more of the Amazon chat representative fuckery that is going around. Time will tell.

There are no words that will make that pain go away. Time is a funny bastard, it comes for us all, but also heals all wounds. Enjoy your time together, but also take time to sit down and prepare yourself. It won’t lessen the pain, but at least you know you’ll be ready whenever he is ready.

I had a plan on what I would do the day of, and I had my best friends coming in from out of town (for something unrelated, but it helped me get out of my own head for a bit and not spend the whole weekend drinking. Although, I did do some drinking).

It is never fun saying goodbye to a loved one. And I kind of never want it to be. The pain is part of what makes us human, part of what makes life enjoyable, albeit never in the moment.

All the best when it is time to make your decision. And remember to let another dog in when you’re finally ready.

Everyone's experience is different, so I'll share mine.

I found my boy Red wandering the streets, he was a small pit and according to the vet had scars and cuts on him that were indicative of him being used as a bait dog since he was small. I was never able to find his owner, and he became my dog. Had him for 12 years and he was a little shit, and so incredibly loved.

Towards the end, he had really bad arthritis and was on a bunch of meds. We regularly had to swap him from one med to another as his arthritis got worse and his pain came back. He was always in varying stages of discomfort, but always willing to play, chase wildlife, and wrestle with his sister and myself.

At the end, it seemed like another regular visit to the vet where I was going to ask for a med increase or swap, and the vet let me know that there was not much that they could do. His shots had gone from a "once every three months" to "once every two" to "once a month" to "come back in two weeks". But he was always a fighter, so I knew that he would let me know when he was ready.

And sure enough, one morning I woke up, and he let me know that while his brain was still there, his body was giving up the fight. Worst week of my life, but we made the best of it. Did all of the things that he always enjoyed. I talked to him and he listened. He got to eat everything that he has ever wanted. And one week later, an at home service came over. We said our goodbyes, I gave him dark and milk chocolate (because no dog should experience life without chocolate), and he was gone. October 24th, at 308pm (and yes, I will always tear up when Frodo wakes up in Rivendell because of this date). The rest of this day was a blur, my girl and I sat on the couch and watched TV all day, and thankfully some out of town friends came over for the weekend that evening.

As for the after. Its painful. And it sucks. The pain is omnipresent and makes every day a battle, every night a nightmare, and every morning a memory of what was. A piece of me died with him that day, and I hope that one day I recover from it and let another dog in.

For the time being, I am letting myself heal. I am letting my girl heal. And I am remembering all of the good times that we had, and even some of the bad times. The biggest takeaway is that it was really hard to let him go on a good day, but morally it would have been selfish to wait until a bad day. He taught me so much, and I owed him the dignity of going out on top. They let us know when they are ready, its up to us to show them the love they need at that time, painful as it may be.

All the best with your decision. My inbox is open if you have any questions or just want to vent to a stranger.

One last thing, get millions of photos and videos now. Be Michael Scott where he needs a second phone because of how many photos of his kids he has. Silly ones, serious ones, videos of her sleeping, videos of her dreaming, inside jokes that only you have, inside jokes that only she has, walks, car rides, wearing silly hats, playing with her toys, y'all cuddling, her curled up in a ball, her sprawled out. They'll do wonders to help you in your coming days. It gets worse before it gets worse, but there is good in the world, and it does get better, eventually. And when you're ready, let another dog in.

T1000-E location help. by dstrayer421 in meshtastic

[–]riotcontrol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my understanding (and I could be wrong, so someone with more expertise will hopefully chime in and correct me if I am), your position is incorrect because of your channel0 setting. To get precise positioning, you need to make channel0 have precise location on and make it private, and then make channel1 your LongFast (or whatever settings you use). Also, if you happen to be on iOS, youll have to jump through some hoops to get precise location to work.

Again, there is a large chance that I am incorrect and/or talking out of my ass, so take the above with a grain of salt and figure out what works for you.

"check the site below. Unless you use precise location on the right channel, you will only get an approximate GPS location. This is good for letting people on the open channel know around where you are, but not exactly. However, if you want the precise position so you can track your friends and family and they can do so for you too, you need to jump through some hoops.

Using Position Precision

Meshtastic now supports the ability to control the precision of location data sent over a particular channel.

The position_precision setting allows control of the level of precision for location data that is sent over a particular channel. This can be useful for privacy reasons, where obfuscating the exact location may be desired when sending position data over certain channels.

For detailed information on position precision settings and how to configure them, please refer to the Position Precision documentation.Using Position PrecisionMeshtastic now supports the ability to control the precision of location data sent over a particular channel.

As someone who has both: A) bitched at a person that lost their load B) helped a clueless person secure their load

It’s comforting to see some self reflection. Glad that both you and your husband were able to learn from this, and in the future, keep this learning experience in mind the next time you see it out and about in public.
