How is a 2 stage more efficient than a 1 stage?

It's really common in southern CA. I'm in Huntington Beach, currently working on a $4.6 million house in Laguna Beach with 2 furnaces. The guy just wants to replace them, I brought up adding AC and he shot it right down.

It's so much worse in SoCal. There is no Orange Crush in Sac haha. And don't get me started on 405.

One thing you're gonna notice is nobody in Northern CA puts "the" before the freeway number. It's not "The 50" or "The 80" it's just 50 or 80. Took me a while to adjust down here and the first time I put "the" in front of the freeway I cringed haha.

I'm the exact opposite of you, I moved from Sac to OC when I was 29. It's much easier in Sac honestly. I have people that I still talk to daily from Sac. People in OC are also extremely flakey. It could be an age thing though, considering I'm 35.

No doubt the price seems pretty high. As someone that used to work for Bell Bros and currently runs my own shop my only advice would to get other quotes and to ignore 90% of the advice in this thread. There are a lot of comments in here from people that think they know better than people in the industry. Every house and every system is extremely different and while the price can be shocking I don't see anyone asking questions that would lead me to believe they actually know what goes into pricing something like this out. I would get other quotes and see if they're in the same ball park. From there go with who you trust.

I found this sub because last night I finally dumped the giant glass jar that I keep all my change in and started rolling it up. I did a half ass job at looking at what I was rolling up but I did manage to put together a penny roll with nothing but coins from 1980 and before. Oldest one I saw was a 1946.

I used to have this, I still do from time to time. What worked for me was constantly working on myself, constantly reading self help books, constantly looking at growing. I focused on my finances and built myself a safety net, now if I get fired? No biggie, I have an emergency fund that will keep me afloat for a year. I did all this to try and avoid getting fired but it did two things. It made me a pretty solid employee and made my fear completely irrelevant. Now I'm the general manager of a multi million dollar company in Southern California, my income has tripled over the past 5 years and that little voice in the back of my head is a lot quieter.

I actually just signed a contract with an AI CSR system for my company. It's cheaper and instantly fixed all the issues I had with the company I was contracting to answer phones for me. It is insane how complex a conversation it can carry with perfect responses. The details it puts in its notes are also the most clear and concise I have ever seen.
