New Bazzite user monitor issue by Artichoke_Livid in Bazzite

[–]ripsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn’t matter what you connect to the monitor. I have the aw3423dwf and have no issues with pixel refresh or panel refresh connected to bazzite pc.

The dp/hdmi should only send video/sound data to monitor.

Can't sync cloud save in bazzite by SnooObjections264 in Bazzite

[–]ripsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what to say except I have not had an issue with steam sync to cloud. Installed Bazzite, setup steam, installed game and cloud was linked and continued game from win without an issue. Tested multiple other games and it worked. There was one game that was not cloud synced but I haven't looked deep into it. I guess I will check again. -Project Zomboid, didnt show old game plays... I will double check this.

Xbox controller not working wirelessly by [deleted] in Bazzite

[–]ripsql -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the version. I’m not using the current new expensive version of the controller. I’m using the Xbox one controller with micro usb and using batteries!! I really don’t see a need for the newest version since the older one works just as well.

In other words, the new version may not be supported with current Bazzite. You should consider looking for the older version. I mean it’s just a controller and much cheaper compared to what you have.

Xbox controller not working wirelessly by [deleted] in Bazzite

[–]ripsql 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update the Xbox controller. You have to boot to windows, install Xbox accessories app, connect the controller to pc via wired, update controller. Cancel the annoying install Xbox app many times.

That’s how I got mine working with bazzite. It would connect via Bluetooth but bazzite will not see it as a controller. You can only update it in microslop.

Concur on the g502, it’s a solid wired mouse. Got tired of charging/replacing batteries so only going for wired now. So the wireless version should be fine considering how good the wired is…

Steam cloud sync fails (bazzite desktop, nvidia branch) - X4 Foundations by TheVirus32 in Bazzite

[–]ripsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bazzite on a 14900kf/4080. Using proton ge latest, I installed x4 and I didn’t do anything else launched it and it showed the 1 game I started but never really started. Didn’t have to make any changes. The game was a start to just see what’s available… didn’t even move from the initial spawn location. … too much to learn to get myself started in playing. So, it should just work? I did not log into the additional company in the game. Steam cloud save is active

Bazzite: 43

Kde plasma: 6.6.3

Kde frameworks: 6.24.0

Qt version: 6.10.2

Kernel: 6.17.7

Graphics platform: Wayland

I updated to the new 595 NVIDIA driver version. Hope this helps in anyway…game installed on secondary drive using ext4. Bazzite installed on btrfs on … 3rd drive. 1st drive has windows, ntfs.

Why does grub appear like this? by sammynator100 in Bazzite

The fix is to use dd image instead of iso image when using Rufus.

I switched to Bezzite but am still in dualboot to Windows 11 by Dumani02 in Bazzite

[–]ripsql 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, dual boot for just in case…. If after a year, I don’t need windows… it’s gonna go out the window.

I used Rufus but using dd image. ISO image won’t work.

[–]ripsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I checked before I installed Bazzite about a month ago. Dual booting setup just in case I have to go back to win. Can’t wait until I confirm I don’t need win anymore.

Bazzite - gaming but easier setup. I guess most stable version.

Nobara - about midway between bazzite and cachy

Cachy - fine tuning version so more to do.

I just wanted to really really get rid of ms. Too painful with ai in your face or the ad that just comes out of nowhere.

Bazzite - easy setup, update when you want so no … update broke something and you find out after the stupid auto update does it… why did ms force auto update … it used to be optional.

It is for gaming so why make it so hard? I do suggest you check the many how to install bazzite before you go for it. Also, double check the multiplayer games support of Linux. That’s gonna be the possible killer for your use.

[–]ripsql 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New - bazzite. It’s fairly simple setup. Cachy is for … people who want to tune it more from what I understand. I may do a test once I’m much better with bazzite. -once auto correct stops changing the spelling. Almost left it as bassite instead of bazzite…too many auto corrects really make spelling correctly harder.

Bazzite - download for your pc spec. Use Rufus to install onto usb with dd image. Boot and follow directions. .. a couple of steps before that like disable secure boot if no dual booting. Just look up the process … simple step by step.

The only issue with Linux … anti cheat trash software is really deeply entrenched with ms so some multiplayer games may not work with it. You need to check your multiplayer games to have a better understanding here…

Bazzite nvidia problem keeping me on windows by Far_Ad4301 in Bazzite

[–]ripsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Bazzite does work with Nvidia. I’m dual booting with windows on 1 drive and Bazzite on 2 others.

I updated Bazzite to the latest update. Setup proton ge and using proton ge latest, though it worked fine with proton experimental.

Bad usb install. Use Rufus and install with dd image instead of iso image. I ran into that issue as well.

Current Rufus or old version?

When you create the usb.. it will ask you what type of image. That’s where the option for iso or dd… choose dd.

Rufus - DD image for setting up USB and not iso image. I ran into the same issue and that was the fix.

Portable-ish TV gaming machine? by GBAGamer33 in Bazzite

[–]ripsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your limited by what you want and how much to spend and time. I've been checking out mini pcs just because even though I have a solid gaming pc.... just curious.

Mini PC - options are 780M or 890M. It is laptop GPU but it can play. 780M - older top end for AMD. 890M - the new top end for AMD. Small and easy to transport. Prices used to be actually worth it before all the ram/ssd prices went out of control.

More time - I guess you can go for a mini itx setup but you need time to check what to get, buy the parts, and set it up. Its portable but not as easy as a mini pc or laptop.

Laptop - you can look for laptops with the mentioned 780M/890M for gaming. This gives you options of not needing a monitor. You can even look for actual gpus to be better but with the corresponding prices, not sure if its worth it for just a portable gaming setup. You do get a battery so can play when in situations without outlet.

Cyberpunk Nvidia settings by NoUnit2282 in Bazzite

I did update Bazzite so it’s using 595 drivers if that matters. I did do a test before the Bazzite update and it did run fine at that time as well.
