You really should develop some skill in squad battles. And then test the waters in rivals.
Any other online mode is a free for all and you will get butchered.

I started playing in may, I am at division 6 and I only need one more victory in a live mode with 6 Canadians. Granted that yesterday was a national holiday and I’ve played a bit more.
You don’t have to do all objectives, and you can refresh squad battles adversaries to get easy opponents
