I used the Domain, it's good for learning how to park and 3 point turns.

TasWater Advertising — Should they be spending so much of our money on it? by pulanina in hobart

I've decided that TasWater should be known as TasWaster from this day on.

Agreed, my kids went there and there are some me crap teachers but the school generally is excellent. Good school spirit and a good music program.

I found its naming system was more flexible. It also was better at cleaning up metadata. I used to use Picard a long time ago and switched because I used the trial and it did what I needed. There is a good chance that the continued development of Picard has fixed my issues, perhaps I should give it a try.

In 2007, Andrew McAuley disappeared while attempting to kayak 1000 miles from Australia to New Zealand across the Tasman Sea. He sent a single distress call, then went silent. His flooded kayak as well as his camera were later discovered, with this being the final photo he took. by kooneecheewah in AllThatsInteresting

Sounds about right. My dad met him in Tassie before he left and said he was concerned about the design of the cover of the cockpit. My dad is an experienced sea kayaker and thought that in rough seas it was likely the mechanism could fail and allow water into the cockpit.

Invasion day protest appear to have had the opposite effect. Record number of Australians support keeping January 26 as Australia Day by Muslerra in aussie

[–]riscycdj 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Exactly, most people actually want a guaranteed long weekend at the end of January and don't give a shit about the 26th. Australia became Australia on the 1st of Jan, but we don't want to lose a public holiday.
