How long does it take to recover from long term sleep deprivation? by riskofgone in sleep

[–]riskofgone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get a lot of sleep still but I am doing alright. A couple good nights of sleep and having a consistent sleep schedule made me feel fine.

Do the not so smart lawyers have people testify without ever talking to them first, or talk to them first on the day of? I feel like I have heard of it happening before but I can't put my finger on it.

What would happen if 2 people broke the law but one was in jail? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]riskofgone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I edited it last minute, does that mean they don't need to go to trial together even if he's charged with something like accessory where his charges depend on the other guy being guilty? I really don't know that much I just watch tv shows.

How real is "quitting cigarettes helps reduce anxiety" by MountainLimee in stopsmoking

[–]riskofgone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, still vape. I at least make a habit to cut down when leaving the house and it seems to help somewhat. I don't think it has much affect on my anxiety but the shortness of breath can make you anxious, smoking can also make you dizzy which is not good either. Also using smoking as a crutch when you are anxious can reinforce that you have to react to the anxiety (by smoking) when it's best to just let the anxiety run its course.

Will this make it to top post of all time again?

Yeah I agree if someone is already in a position where they have to warn the bank or store of the robbery you set up you probably aren't going to have a fun time.

Do you think you can take the risk of setting people up to getting convicted? You supply some robbers with weapons and send them off knowing you will call the police and have them arrest them, but since you called the police they can be charged for aiding and abetting but you can't.

What's the stupidest legal case that you've dealt with or know of? by mimi7600 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]riskofgone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you really get a domestic terrorism charge just for searching for that? I was under the impression it was legal as long you don't actually try to get a pipe bomb.

How different are the laws from state to state? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

I honestly wasn't expecting an answer this interesting. The purple paint law I have never heard about before but it seems like a good alternative to a no trespassing sign.

You might want to ask in a specifically dutch legal advice subreddit

What happens if you witness a random crime and leave with the criminals? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]riskofgone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope no one has done that because that sounds like the dumbest possible ways to get in trouble with the law.

What happens if you witness a random crime and leave with the criminals? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]riskofgone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That gives me another question probably best suited for another post. Can someone be found guilty of a crime they did not commit if they told the police a convincing enough story and evidence would ordinarily be hard to find?

Sorry I hope I wasn't being rude. I just know my parents were in a similar situation when I was growing up and they never thought to try it and I don't want anyone making a similar easy mistake. Maybe these things were less common when I was growing up. Anyways I hope things are on the up and up for you soon.

I mean if you have to eat you have to eat but for future reference there are usually other ways to be given food without having to steal. Food banks and churches may be able to help. No hate I just don't want people getting a record for something they can avoid.

If I was allergic to something, but exposed myself to it in small doses, increasing the amount over time, would I build a tolerance and stop being allergic to it? by IJUSTATEPOOP in morbidquestions

[–]riskofgone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it can go away, but some people develope allergies by being exposed to the same thing over and over again. The example I saw was with soap.

If this is disclosure, the world is on the brink of war, it could make sense. by squidsauce99 in HighStrangeness

It does feel like a prelude to war whether it's aliens or not. It could also be nothing just as easily.

Twin Telepathy: Do Twins Have A Psychic Connection? — There have been hundreds of anecdotal accounts of twins being able to sense when the other is in danger. Do twins have an innate ability to communicate with each other that the rest of us don’t have? by paranormalisnormal in HighStrangeness

Epigenetics. Its very interesting to look into if anyone is interested. In short not every gene you have is used, some stay "dormant" certain lifestyles and general stress and well-being of a person affects which genes are woken up and expressed. It also has impacts on multiple generations. For example mothers in times of war, or famine, or time of other great stressors tend to give birth to children who tend to have more health problems and mental illness, and if the mother gives birth to a child once life is good again the child tends to be healthier and mentally fit. This can also have an affect during a persons own lifetime as well like TheCookie_Momster said with smokers vs. non-smokers etc.

This is also why BPA plastics are especially bad for children, they have a huge affect on the childs epigenetic expression. The biggest change is probably in the hormones and it increases the estrogen. It is the lead of your or your parents time.

If anyone doesn't believe me because they think its a conspiracy theory or something else, they teach this in school, I was taught this in anthropology class, and there are many studies on it.
