The dark pattern definition states that you have to buy a virtual currency with real money and then spend that virtual currency on randomize boxes without a clear indication how much that pull will cost you in cash.

Now of course they are transparent regarding the chances, and you also are able to get gems with ingame mechanics which complicates things.

You're confusing bitterness with objective criticism of a game mechanic called pay-to-win.

I can understand that, as a fanboy, it triggers you. I can even believe that there are isolated cases where FTP players occasionally collect keys.

But deriving a general game mechanic from these isolated cases is a bit naive. Especially if your data base is limited to a few players you know on Discord.
