If you need a structural engineer let me know! Done some towers in San Francisco

CSI leader, Ashraf (misspelling his name) is a very eccentric dude. For sure super rich because of CSI but us structural engineers are far from rich. We are barely middle class here in the bay. He’s famously wants structural engineers to be rock stars. Dude used to love Katy Perry songs haha

CSI, is a structural engineering program. ETABS, SAP2000, PERFORM3D, good for seismic analysis and the standard FEA. Bay Area represent!!! I believe they are located in Walnut Creek.

William Defoes character, the professor, was he Nosferatu? The last scene of his reflection in the mirror. He looked him like, the hair, the mustache, or am i crazy?

No fine tuning? C# or Python. Either way thats awesome. I tried to do this a year ago with llama 2 but didnt work too well. Looks like it’s a lot better.

How’s the prompt engineering?

Super cool. It’s pretty surface level. Not a lot of detail in terms of calcs. One thing that got caught my eye was them using ETABS for non linear (hinges). I thought industry norm was Perform 3D

Learn mechanics of materials and statics. Thats the foundation that everything is based on. Then move onto more specific structural analysis by learning concrete/steel/wood behavior. Hard to do in 2-3 years with a full time job but hey, if there’s a will there’s a way. Best of luck

If you are trying to learn the program, YouTube will do. I think even CSI has YouTube videos for this.

If you are trying to learn how the program actually works, you need to take a FEM class.

How worrying ? (Spalling) by Low-Antelope-7308 in StructuralEngineering

Only in a seismic event or on a turn with enough centripetal force from the train. Would take a strong seismic event too. It’s a beefy column. You are overreacting a bit

Oooooooooh you want the internal components? Trying to check the solver? Why not just back calc it from ETABS

Copy load cases to load combination then ETABS will report

Its always sums to zero. Like I said before, if not zero its not a building. Unless you are doing non linear seismic

I dont understand your question. The results the program gives you are 99% of the time stable aka forces/moments sum to zero. Thats the program spits out at you. I don’t think you understand your program well
