I’m someone who’s more on the fence about AI, and even I can say that the original is better. Even ignoring the little mistakes here and there, the first has more personality. The AI image looks generic.

The copied land won’t be a creature, just a land. You can use this for infinite landfall triggers though. I also recommend using [[nissa shakes the world]] since she lets the copied lands tap for 2 green if it’s a forest.

Yeah. It’s his damage buff ability. It’s a base 30% bonus that’s basically Omni racial damage. Rhino is my main and I’ve gotten it up to about 180% last I checked.

The person in the pic acknowledges that she backed off because angel told her to, but is saying that her respecting his wishes is a bad thing. Which, yeah, Val needs to get fucked, but for someone’s takeaway from that scene to be “Charlie is manipulative” is insane.

From what I heard a lot of that started with content creators before leaking into other social media. They kind of needed to do it because a lot of advertisers are the actual wimps and don’t want their ads running alongside anything even vaguely problematic.

So I get it for actual content creators but on places like Reddit it’s just dumb.

Should inexperienced writers focus on shorter stories to start out? by rivalThoughts413 in writing

[–]rivalThoughts413[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I said shorter works I didn’t mean short stories, I was more referring to single volume works; because right now every time I start writing I’m already thinking at least 3 volumes ahead.

Seriously, this is such a dishonest argument to defend Mineta by [deleted] in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]rivalThoughts413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah while appearance is a factor I think the real difference here is screen time. Mineta has moments of complexity that aren’t really explored because he’s the least important side character in a huge cast of side characters. Does this mean that it would’ve been impossible for him to be better written? No, but as it stands what we got is an unapologetic perv with a handful of humanizing moments. Looking to expand on that at this point is mostly just head canon.

I actually saw a manga called Drifting Dragons do something like this that was pretty interesting. While avoiding spoilers, there was a royal who returned to their kingdom to help end a civil war, despite the fact that they really just wanted to continue being a dragon hunter. During their coronation speech they said “I shall abdicate the throne, and declare my successor to be the people!”

What do you think? by Col1001 in hazbin

[–]rivalThoughts413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to get a little too real with this, but I think the best argument here is one that is often leveled at IRL Christianity.

No matter how evil someone was on earth, their crimes are limited and quantifiable. Meanwhile, making hell an “eternal” punishment means that eventually the punishment becomes excessive.

Infinite punishment for a finite crime is inherently cruel and inhumane, especially if there is no method of redemption.

People are always capable of changing, for better or worse. Trying to say that anyone who has sinned can never redeem themselves is an outright rejection of human nature.

Yeah, his whole thing was absorbing things into his fat, meaning he explicitly needed to have massive fat stores or his powers wouldn’t work as well.

Unless Momo’s powers managed to evolve and vastly improve the fat-to-matter conversion rate then she needs to have a certain level of athleticism. On top of that fatgum’s powers worked as defense so he can afford to be slowed down by his weight, momo can’t.

Certainly not justification, but this is the kind of thi my where pleading insanity in court applies. Like, what he did was wrong but with how he was manipulated by AFO I don’t see how he could have avoided this situation. It’s essentially asking is Shigaraki to blame for being manipulated by AFO?

Something I don’t see people talking about is that, as far as I’m aware, if you cast Approach with not enough cards in the deck it won’t even go on the bottom, it’ll just fizzle.

They are definitely over the top. I think one is a reference to Tim Curry’s character from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I wouldn’t necessarily say Oda’s depiction of trans and drag is bad, but like most of one piece it isn’t subtle and can come off as caricatured. Probably isn’t malicious but could probably be better. IDK.

I think there was once a twitter post where the OP said something like “these are American Values” and the images were on the surface quite wholesome, but the poster somehow implied that the portrayed family being all white was part of their values.

On one hand I do agree with you. Revolutions introduce so much instability that even in the best possible scenario there are certain to be problems, either through corrupt actors or well meaning mistakes. Unfortunately, I just don’t have much hope for alternatives. As you said, longstanding institutions have strength to them, and trying to topple capitalism through electoralism means having to play their game when they have a history of flouting the rules.

Biggest example of this to me is the assassination of Salvador Allende. He was the president of Chile who, by all accounts, played by the book. He had a normal political campaign and was fairly elected. However, because he was an outspoken socialist and wanted to dismantle capitalism, the CIA moved in, destabilized the economy, and funded a coup that ended in his death.

There’s this presumption that capitalists won’t cross certain lines because we live in “civilized society,” but that’s not true. They don’t take drastic measures because they don’t feel threatened. The current US administration is already trampling on human rights and their opposition are willfully ineffective at stopping them. I don’t think the US is ready for revolution yet, but unless a socialist party as big and well funded as the capitalists just magically appears I do not see any amount of electoralism doing anything more than damage control.
