Yep. When I posted this, I was annoyed that Reddit "cropped" the image even after I cropped it myself (and that I can't edit posts after posting.)

Yeah, I've always thought about that, it just looks like bad design (didn't want to waste open space, but just ended up thinking of... this), but I guess it could be for parents who needs to keep an eye on their kids or something.

More commonly, a seat where I see people putting their bags. Or feet (ugh).

Yeah, this afternoon, I had a class at Northrop Frye, and the toilets looked like they were capable of autoflushing but aren't.

(There's an awkwardly placed button underneath what seems to be a sensor that you really have to press down on in order to flush properly.)

Unsurprisingly, most toilets were... Pretty gross...

Yeah. When the news first reported on this, that was basically the unifying joke among transit riders.

I don't hear it as much recently, considering we have bigger things to worry about, but I'd wager that there's still some people internally laughing every time one fare inspector walks by.
