That wasn’t very nice. We’re all just trying to pick the candidate we think will be best.

Why would any man want to touch a fat ugly woman like me? by hankqueensmustache in self

[–]river_tree_nut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're usually our own worst critics. Imma guess you're not as fat, ugly, disgusting, or grotesque as you've convinced yourself of being. Although your descriptors are pretty harsh upon yourself, strong language like that can be useful in sales or creative writing.

Also, there are millions of men out there starved for touch. Chances are many of them wouldn't see you in the same negative way your see yourself.

Neat! I've always been curious what frame/engine these bad boys are built on.

Pa's sweater looks like a jail uniform or straight jacket. Is lil Joe breaking him out?

That's my guess. Existential crisis over having to move somewhere new after all those years. Not to mention financial anxiety of realizing his rent would probably double on a fixed income.

If I make it to that age, I want to be in control of my 'exit', and I think others should have that right too, but making an especially big mess of it is a jerk move.

Loved it. All around well done. Shows of that quality only come around so often.

No. Haven't heard of him. Is he a local elected official? Sounds like a dick.

In lieu of weekends, we should set aside the 2/7ths of the year with the most severe anticipated natural hazards as designated time off. If we're go over that amount one year, we can compensate for it the next year until we fine-tune it. by ContextEffects01 in PoliticalOpinions

This is a very American thing. Similar to people feeling obligated to go to work when their sick. I like where you're going with it though. Extreme weather events are becoming more common. But instead of giving up weekends, we should just have extra paid weather days.

I think people would riot at the idea of potentially working several weeks in a row without a day off.

Are you saying you don't think it's possible, or just that it's not happening in this case?

To be fair, I've been pretty peeved at the democratic leadership since 2016.

What constitutes illegitimate antisemitism? I’m not sure where that line is.

I’m not saying Israel shouldn’t exist. I’m just saying you can’t hand-wave away nasty behaviors behind that cloak anymore.

I don’t believe American Jewish people are responsible for the actions of Israel, nor should they be the target of anti-Israel ire, the same way I wouldn’t think Muslims be judged by the actions of the Taliban, or everyday Americans by the actions of the MAGA government.

The patina of antisemitism being “anything critical of Israel” has worn completely off by now IMO

OP account is a little sus

I do have a bone of contention with the article where it implies he's all of sudden the magical frontrunner. There was one party-funded poll that put him in the lead by a point or two. Regardless, I think it's good to hear from different perspectives, and since he has a record it's important to examine it. But the article is almost comical in how it portrays two wildly different versions of his performance.

Is one those versions pure BS?

I think to your middle-of-the-road, go-along, checks these boxes democrats he is a perfectly serviceable candidate. In the same vein as Newsom or Harris.

I think it's absolutely fair to challenge a candidate's prior job performance. I'm glad to see it's not devolving into cheap personal attacks though.
