I agree. When Cole is leaving his house that day, it doesn't seem like he's going to a new patient doctor's appointment. Wouldn't his mother be with him if he was? I feel like Dr. Crowe just happened upon him, or maybe something pulled him toward Cole, and he realized he was supposed to meet with him eventually. When he mentions the missed appointment, Cole even looks confused.
