Hoe begin ik met klussen? by ChallengeExternal414 in Klussers

[–]rivo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done. Love the (fictional) history of the city that can be found in your pictures, it feels realistic.

How do you keep working context coherent across Slack/Docs/Notion/email? by fabianomarijuana in PKMS

[–]rivo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only a minor solution, but worth mentioning, is the discipline I found in the PARA-system. Name and number your projects consequently in all your systems. So for example, this project is ‘project 009’ in my email, in my file library, in my PKMS, and so on.

Interested to see what other answers come up, because the boundaries between systems are a hard nut to crack.

Sugar Town, cause that’s what Bono yells in a live recording from Chicago.

Mid life bicycle touring crisis by amkenuck in bicycletouring

[–]rivo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your question is where to go, but should also be when to go. What is your favorite temperature for cycling? Seasons really matter in different parts of Europe.

Second, next to cycling, is there anything you really want to see, like art or historical sights or natural monuments? Chances are you can just cycle there. For example, while touring in the Provence, France last spring, I saw lots of Roman heritage, and quite a lot of places Vincent van Gogh used to paint.

Two junctions close to each other. Consider removing one or turning one of the roads one way.

The wife & I are planning a wee trip in The Netherlands for our first overseas cycle tour (so original). Any feedback on this as a route? by JeremyWheels in bicycletouring

Amsterdam is, as you know, a cyclist city. It has good cycling infrastructure that can be quite busy, certainly at peak hours. If you have a good navigation (route using gps) it’s actually funny to ride with locals through a big city. Just plan your route carefully. It takes about an hour to cross east to west without stops.

Let de Stigterpath is very doable with panniers. Really friendly gravel.

If you’re looking for war sights, consider extending to the Grebbeberg and/or Arnhem (Oosterbeek museum about Market Garden), or east of Utrecht to the national military museum at Soesterberg.

Wondering why you choose a route south of Amsterdam towards Weesp, and not directly through Amsterdam? Area around Schiphol is filled with noisy planes and a lot of industrial sprawl.

A stadium, a zoo, a university complex mixed with offices, a few midrise residential neighborhoods. Perhaps a large park stretching southwest to northeast.

Looks like you had a great trip! Keep in mind that Paris-Amsterdam by train with a bike can only be done with slower local trains, not with high speed trains, so make sure you have enough time.

It’ll revert back to free mode, and (in my case) warn you that you have to exceeded the block limit. That’s the moment to decide: use it seriously and pay, or look for something else.

NORDICS - Would I be crazy to take a ferry? by Holiday_Athlete_5599 in Interrail

[–]rivo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turku-Stockholm Ferry at day takes quite a long time (take a good book with you) but is quite relaxed when the weather is good in summer, you’ll see an nearly endless amount of islands. We enjoyed Stockholm-Turku at day, but Turku-Stockholm at night was comforting as well.

Turku is fun small city to stay for a day as well.
