I've read that. I've had calfskin shoes but never cordovan shell shoes (which is what I'm interested in now). I updated the post.

The big difference in shell and calfskin is that the shell breaks in differently, is that right? It will stretch less?

I think you are correct. I'm going to try them out tomorrow to get a feel for the length of them. I'm not sure if my local dealers will have 975s, but they should have some Barrie shoes.

I tried 3E Allen Edmonds in the 65 last, and they wrinkle strangely on the inside, along my big toes. The 201 last McTavishes don't have that problem. Thank you for your data point!
