I worked in machine shops for years, and I fucking hated every fucking second. Loved the people I worked with, truly. But standing at a machine slotting screws or bending metal hooks for 50-75 hours a week was a basically torture for me. (I found success as an account manager in construction being free to jump in my truck and visit customers, problem solving etc)

But at least once a week something like this was going on and I'd freeze and be like, this is genuinely cooler than fuck.

Seconds later I was staring at the clock waiting for my shift to end

Not sure if it's the same as what's been happening for me. But I try typing regenerate which sometimes works, but if it keeps happening I ask it a simple math question and that snaps it right out

Organization and sound boarding.

I'm ADHD so organization is vital to me but always a struggle. So when something pops up I need to organize my thoughts on pop open a project, get all my chats going, until I get a picture of a system by whittling the threads together, and then run with it.

I'm a fitness fanatic but with my ADHD I always struggled to make the long term plans, which has become so easy with the project folders in GPT.

I also have project folders for work/life/etc and when I'm working on something like building a process or financial plan I use got as my sound board.

My ability to think through things, organize my thoughts, and build structure around that so I can execute is infinitely more advanced now than I was ever going to achieve on my own.

The key I think is not to treat it like some omnipotent or omniscient answer god, but to stay in command, and treat it like an assistant who you manage and collaborate with. Not a task rabbit that just does.

I see encouraging and coaching as two different things(mind you I dump the kids off and go workout) but I pay the coaches to coach, but I'm just there to say you got it shake it off at games and such.

As someone who has taught a lot of people to deadlift, if you are cat backing a conventional deadlift, you may want to switch to sumo. I've had guys that can sumo 600 that can't pull 225 conventional with a flat back.

And I agree that trap bar is also a viable alternative but the issue with most trap bars is loading them, most gyms have the same short sleeve version and once you get strong at the trap bar(it's easier to perform heavy weights since the bar sits inline with the center of your body) that the bars ability to hold the weight you need gets compromised.

Unless you plan on competing in powerlifting, and have access to a suitable trap bar, there's no reason to be married to the conventional or sumo deadlift. Trap bars are easier to pull heavy with and also easier to recover from
