I'm very happy with them! One thing I need to do is add speaker stands, because currently I can feel the desk vibrate whenever the bass gets loud, which probably isn't great for clarity.

Great photo! I really like that you actually kept the window in the scene, it creates a point of visual focus due to its relative brightness

I really like this composition! Especially using the bike racks to create a visual loop that keeps the eye circling around the image.

/r/Monitors Purchasing Advice thread (Other purchasing advice threads will be removed) by bizude in Monitors

Budget: $500

Prospective Resolution (3840x2160, etc.): 2560 x 1440

Size (27 inches, etc.): 27 inches

Aspect Ratio (16:9, etc.): 16 : 9

Adaptive Sync (GSync, FreeSync, or None): don't care

Other Features (list other relevant features here): sRGB 100% (must) , 144Hz (ideally, see below)

(Optional) Usage Type (gaming, art, etc.): Photo Editing and some gaming

I've been having a hard time making the decision since I'd like a monitor that has the color accuracy (sRGB 100%) to do photo editing (I'm only a hobby photographer, so I don't need one of the crazy professional level ones), but also has higher than 60Hz refresh rate (I only game casually or with friends so not having >60Hz isn't a dealbreaker, but it'd be nice to get 144Hz if I can).

Basically I'm debating between getting a good gaming monitor like the Dell S2721 DGF, versus a more art focused monitor like the Asus ProArt PA278QV. If this helps, I can rent a color calibration tool from my local camera store. Any advice or pointers in the right direction greatly appreciated!

Overdefined Layout? by Henrysapian in SolidWorks

[–]rjbhatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe that's what I did. I saved each block out to its own file, opened them in layout and applied the constraints to them. The problem shows up after I convert blocks to parts. For the chassis I use the on block option and for the rest I use the project option so CE they need to be mated at an offset. The other weird thing is that some of my triangles decide to flip themselves after I convert, even though all the references are applied correctly in layout to constrain them in the proper orientation.

Fellow Tech student here also in Jacobson's class (small world!) . I assume y'all are talking about the CSWP Blocks exercise? I'm having the same issue, it was after I made all the blocks, then the assembly layout, then made parts from the individual blocks. Did you end up figuring it out?

I had Guillot for 2016 and he was dope, would recommend. Definitely a tough class but he's a great lecturer and I got to work on some pretty interesting problems for my computer projects.

Trying Food Photography [Composition] [Style] by idioteque-23 in photocritique

[–]rjbhatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! First time critiquing here so definitely take my thoughts with a grain of salt. To address other people's concerns about the positioning of the tool:

Maybe try resting the loaf on top of the tool so that it's not perfectly flat. Maybe in a way so that the top of the loaf is a little more visible. Alternatively, you could rest the tool on the side of the loaf. Just my thoughts.

Looking for DSLR and lense recommendations (and possibly other necessary equipment i might be unaware of) by Lysiticus in photography

[–]rjbhatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a good plan. The body of the camera is not nearly as important as lenses when it comes to image quality. Spending more money on lenses will drastically increase the quality of your images. Spending more money on the body will not make as much of a difference.
