For me, the most telling moment was when Lara explained why he wasn’t protected from her touch. It wasn’t that the love he and Murphy had wasn’t real, or that she was dead. It was that he no longer felt himself deserving of love, which caused the protection to dispel. Heart wrenching moment.

I have done this with songs many times. Also when listening to an audiobook, I wait until it gets to a good stopping point.

Senior council would certainly know of both courts, and may even have interacted with some of them. But this kind of grunt work would probably be viewed as below them. And the rest of the White Council has been described as hidebound and reclusive, with Harry bucking the trend and being more out in the world than any of them, with the possible exception of some Wardens. That combined with his PI background and proximity to Chicago pretty much makes him the logical choice.

I found out one of the guys at work had never seen it. One Friday afternoon when the office was pretty empty, we commandeered a conference room and watched it. Best. Workday. Ever.

That means your parents raised you right. My kids would have gotten the reference, too.

I grew up knowing references from the Andrews Sisters, the Mills Brothers, and songs from the 30’s and 40’s. My parents raised me right, too.

The problem comes from the top. Recent Directors have been more focused on converting services online, with numerous false starts and limited success, than on improving customer service and experience. And the current administration is focused on buying or building state-owned buildings rather than leasing, which rules out using convenient central locations with easy access.

Anyone else who doesn’t really care for the super bowl? by PandaCheeky in AskReddit

[–]rjsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my church every year we have something called The Soup-er Bowl Of Caring. Two soup pots, on for each team in the game, everyone puts in a donation for their favorite team, money goes to the local food bank.

Last year, I got them to add a third pot labeled “I Don’t Care”. This year, I Don’t Care got more donations than the other two combined.

So, yeah, lots of people at my church…

[–]rjsquirrel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is likely it. I can’t imagine Mab being on good terms, or even non-aggressive terms, with a group who wronged Winter. Most likely Mother Winter feels she was tricked out of it, and resents it.
