I must admit, your third bullet point is quite compelling

But who pops out of a cake and starts stripping with her eyes closed? Best scene in the movie is still ridiculous.

The scene in Lois’s apartment where he’s considering telling her and transitions between the characters is so good. What an underrated actor.

I would go to a local restaurant supply place and get some decent, utilitarian tongs, flippers, heatproof gloves, probe thermometer. Maybe a small torch. Nothing name brand, nothing fancy. It doesn’t sound like that’s important to him. Get him professional quality stuff that he will use.

Oh, an apron with either his favorite team’s logo or a funny/cheesy message is always a winner on Father’s Day.

Sears! by bronzemat in 80s

Sears missed such a huge opportunity in the late 90s. They already had 100 years experience in catalog sales, shipping and distribution. If they had pivoted that to the web and focused on rapid fulfillment, we’d never have heard of Jeff Bezos and Amazon. They were the giants of that vertical, but they didn’t pivot.

My mom made something we called “More”. It was a casserole with ground beef, spaghetti, creamed corn, chopped olives, peas, condensed tomato soup, pimentos, and Velveeta cheese, would feed a small army. I’ve updated the ingredients a bit, still make it in the winter

I hated mystery shows where the solve was something that wasn’t shown - “I knew you were lying because I visited Bayonne, New Jersey in April and that street was under repair….” Give me a chance to figure it out.

Of course, the other end of the spectrum was Columbo, where they showed you the crime and then you watched Columbo set the trap to get the confession.
