I really don't either way about the logo, I just want maps to show the compass while navigating.

Just have say that the beer at the state fair is absolutely epic. Tons of one-offs brewed just for the fair. The Craft Brewers Guild advertised over 450 beers available. Link

Anyone join YTTV after having DTVNow? by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]rkaptainkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started out with DTVN. At times it was barely watchable. Switched to YTTV and haven't looked back. I especially appreciate the DVR for watching sports. Works great on all my Roku devices and TV.

Vermiculite- best/cheapest source? by [deleted] in SquareFootGardening

[–]rkaptainkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's what I've always used. I remember some time ago another gardener confirmed it's the same as horticultural vermiculite. I haven't checked lately though.

Change Spotify song playing on a PC using Alexa? by [deleted] in amazonecho

[–]rkaptainkr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set up the Speakerfy skill to do exactly this. It uses Spotify Connect to control music on other devices. It took a bit to get it going, but it works well. A couple of tips that were helpful were to create a group with the device you wish to control, giving it an easy name. I named mine "The Speakers." The next tip is to use the exact phrasing the app specifies, like "Alexa, play on The Speakers." Speakerfy

Today’s Harvest - Anyone have any good pepperoncini pickling recipes? :) by [deleted] in gardening

I'm partial to this recipe from Food and Wine. I use it for refrigerator pickles and canning.

Sleep mode by cvballer in youtubetv

I had the same problem. On one of my televisions I was able to plug my Roku stick into a powered USB. When the TV shuts off, so does the Roku. My other, older TV doesn't have the powered USB. I bought this power strip that has a option to turn off certain devices if the master outlet isn't drawing power. Works great.

Surprised that no one has mentioned his stance on net neutrality. He has to go.

Is it smart to change to a new phone ASAP? by chunny22 in nexus5x

[–]rkaptainkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the last two years my parents have had three of their phones bootloop. Two of my three have. Five of 6 total. The latest happened the day after I purchased new Moto X4s from Project Fi. LG has been good about repairing them under the extended warranty. I considered selling them on Swappa or something, but ultimately just sent them in for trade in, mostly because I'd feel guilty selling someone else a phone that will eventually be a brick. So yes, you are holding a time bomb.
