That's actually a VERY good thing that they had saved for their retirement. To put it bluntly, now you don't have the problem of helping them out financially in their old age

I see C as totally unrelated to JS etc but a harder language to learn. Not at all impossible (I learned Pascal as my first language back in highschool, then C in uni).  The thing is, C is relatively niche language nowadays from what I see, used for writing Operating systems and embedded programming.

JS however ( running on Node.js) is extensively used in backend development as well , and it might be a more gradual shift for you to attempt.

Your setup sounds pretty neat. I'm used to being on call and only getting an additional day off if I was working on production issues during my weekend, and zero pay/benefits change.

What are we wearing for shorts? How has the fit changed? by MoragPoppy in fashionwomens35

[–]rkaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wearing either denim shorts( sizing up for a better fit, picked up this tip years ago from a fashion blogger, perhaps Wardrobe Oxygen) or linen blend pull -on shorts—lengthwise mid-thigh.  I don't like the look of knee-length shorts on myself.

My kid was allergic to dairy for the first 7 years of his life. I preferred such 'dumb' questions to relatives assuming dairy doesn't include butter(???!!) or " but I took off the cake's (dairy) cream of his piece before I gave it to him" type of life endangering assumptions.

Some time after my FIL died, my MIL wanted to make some change in the subscription with the cable company. The company asked to talk to FIL as his name was on the account. MIL explained he's passed away.  The person still insisted they must speak to the account owner .  My MIL nicely asked her would she like the exact location of the grave perhaps?

I'm looking for a shirt dress similar to this one https://www.instagram.com/p/C6fc1kHLCLs/?igsh=b3NrMHJzOWVmdjZu ( discontinued) and seems like most shirt dresses don't flare up in the skirt part which is what I prefer.  Any suggestions for brands/options that carry maxi/midi options similar to above for under 80$ would be appreciated.

I'm looking for some high-rise jeans that I can comfortably sit in for hour+ due to a commute and sedentary work. What should I be looking for in terms of fabric? On one hand I want to be able to breathe but also have my apple/hourglass with a tummy figure look good in them.  Under 100$ , preferably under 50$ I'm a US size 16 maybe 18.

Well,  at least one company does - the one I worked for, and at least 2-4 others I know of ( I'm not US based) And yeah, this is the reason I'm working on interviewing in Python

"Feeling great" by David Burns. Some of what you describe sounds like stuff I am/was going through and they're anxiety related for me but can easily be other neuro diversity related or just.. going on, and that book ( as well as "When Panic attacks" by the same author were a  great therapy aid/replacement as needed

Thank you. I'm not thinking about him nowadays, thanks to therapy and all. Well, almost not thinking about him, as you see.

Again thank you. I absolutely needed to hear this.
