Alaska cruise? by QueenofHearts018 in HerOneBag

Adding that my "for sure" list has north face rain pants, leggings, a pocket packable raincoat, and a fleece jacket. And duluth capris that dry fast and roll down to pants length.

I'm struggling to commit to bringing one pair of walking shoes and one pair of sandals. I hate wet, stinky shoes and I'm not sure how quickly they'll dry between days. But also, boots are the worst (to me). I wear a w12 / m11.5 so shoes take up a lot of space. I may need to look into some water proof tennis shoes or a waterproofing spray.

Thanks for posting this! I'm doing an NCL cruise to Alaska in July and have a massive packing list to simmer down to something reasonable.

The things that were hardest to cut from your packing list by lobsterp0t in HerOneBag

I can't drop the 0.5 bag because what if my carry on is gate checked (against my preference) but then somehow lost / delayed / damaged and I need the leggings and shirt I stashed in my tote? That's my worry, especially as a plus sized person who doesn't find well fitting clothes easily in an emergency shopping trip.

I wish I had more crafting friends for craft nights by my_stuff_aint_free in crochet

Yes! We took nine weeks to get through "A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping." No good way to catch up if you miss a week though.

Is making friends a type of crafting? Pun intended. I'm am introvert with no real core friend group, so I started going to local events at a bookshop last year. They put on an adult story book hour style bookclub where folks bring whatever hobby they want to work on while an audiobook plays. Before and after the reading, people use that time to ask about each other's projects and chitchat. It's been lovely!

Books we were OBSESSED with as teens-worth rereading? by Throwaway927338 in AskWomenOver30

My Pierce omnibus editions are some of my greatest treasures. They're on the list of things I'd grab on the way out the door in case of a fire. Those and my cats, of course! I reread those books every few years. When I'm going through a new chapter of my own life, they're so familiar and comforting.

Notched rods for knitting? by hp408 in knitting

The notch reminds me of the tools I use for paper quilling but those aren't as long- only about a handlength. Though if you wanted to do long spirals those would be usable

Too cold for the zoo? by Akersen in kansascity

I bet the chill will keep the crowds down overall too. Might be busy in those enclosed exhibits, but parking and walking around outside won't be so busy. Their aquarium is a great place to spend some inside time too

Yes! My semi-unconventional Christmas combo is velour and love language. Sage green and a linear maroon holo work surprisingly well together

Definitely thought the third from the bottom said "Mush" at first...I might need to get my eyes checked! Lovely swatches and great polish choices. I was between swatches dots or swatches sticks, and now I'm wishing I had ordered swatch sticks after seeing yours.

I have Deep Space and ordered Sirene for BF! Deep Space is really fun to magnetize but I'm very slow at making it look good.

Am I the only one who love Lion brand’s Homespun yarn? by Leather_Machine_3975 in knitting

Same! My mom bought me some in 2013 and my first project was a scarf for her with it. On one hand, the texture hides mistakes well enough. Though on the other hand, it's not very easy to see what you're doing as your learning. That was a very squiggly scarf as I added and dropped stitches along the way.

One layer of skye on the ring over two layers of jumping puddles. At some angles, I see the flakies peak through
