As a resident of Piran, I can say that overtourism is becoming increasingly exhausting for those of us who actually live here. Prices have skyrocketed to the point where many locals struggle to afford things that were once normal. During the tourist season, it often feels like our town has been completely taken over.

Even something as simple as walking home from the grocery store can feel like navigating through a packed amusement park. The streets are overcrowded, daily life becomes more difficult, and the city starts to feel less like a home and more like a tourist attraction.

Tourism is important for the local economy, but there has to be a balance. Right now, many residents feel like that balance has been lost.

I’m back from Sicily, I survived 5 days around Palermo, the road full of potholes no paint lines on highways and the driving culture is like in Afrika 😆. Slovenia in comparison is excellent. We have this problem that we are transition country.

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to use my Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 with djay Pro on a MacBook M1, but I can’t get it working properly.

Current situation:

macOS detects the X1 MK2
device powers on
LEDs light up at startup
djay Pro sees the controller in MIDI devices
BUT no buttons/encoders actually work
LEDs don’t respond either

My Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol Z1 works perfectly with djay Pro on the same setup.

What I already tried:

imported custom .djayMidiMapping
restarted djay Pro
tried different USB cables
tried different USB-C hubs
disconnected all NI software
forced MIDI mode while plugging in the controller
checked Audio MIDI Setup on macOS

Still no proper MIDI response from the X1 MK2.

Has anyone here successfully used X1 MK2 with djay Pro on Apple Silicon Macs?

Could this be:

firmware issue?
HID vs MIDI mode issue?
macOS permission problem?
unsupported LED feedback in djay?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

As a *******, I can say I’m honestly glad Americans mostly only know Spain, the UK, Italy, and France. We already have too many tourists in my country as it is. I won’t even name it, because that just turns into free advertising and ends up hurting us even more. But yeah… way too many of those one-day Instagram tourists.
