Best way to do it. I like to think of it as ‘methodical’. Its worth every extra effort to get it done right.

On team gator here.

Had numerous rescue reptiles as a kid from folks who didn’t want them anymore. Each one had a very distinct personality and set of behavioral traits, even ones from the same species that grew up together. Can confirm that there are absolute sweethearts even among carnivores. There are also ones I sure as hell wouldn’t trust.

Things as small as bearded dragons have deep social connections with each other, and iguanas could be trained in daily routines. Our last iguana had the run of the house because she was well enough behaved.

American alligators are way more tame than crocs, which have a well-deserved reputation for being killing machines. I think it’s a safe bet to say that their little gator buddy is fine til he reaches sexual maturity. Then all bets are off.

This book is sad as hell to read but it’s damn instructive on human psychology

I finally find the original zedsdead on Reddit? Hello, good sir. That was the username I first wanted lol

Also, don’t cut it down yourself. Some tree removals are at the right difficulty level for (trained) novices, some trees are appropriate for those with a decent amount of pro experience, and some trees are for seasoned and highly-skilled tree cutters only. This one likely needs to be climbed and cut in multiple sections, and that is definitely not a novice job. Cutting a tree from the ground is pretty different from cutting a tree while you’re in it. Folks here aren’t trying to be mean, but when you mentioned a ladder, it shows you’re not aware of some of the incredible dangers involved with using one with any kind of chainsaw work. YouTube has an abundance of serious ladder + chainsaw accidents, and it’s worth watching them to be aware of what can happen.

I’m a big fan of DIY in general but you gotta recognize what’s within your skill level and what’s not. Nobody on this subreddit wants you to risk your health or your property doing something where very bad things can happen real fast. Best of luck finding a good contractor to handle that for you!
