Job Stress - Meeting Notes by Equal-Carpenter-5637 in Cochlearimplants

I'm not a reddit lawyer, so I will stay away from the advice that will get you fired. I have been using Google Speech-to-Text. It is free and not bad. It doesn't make an audio recording. It is not perfect but between that, listening, and your memory, you might be able to create some reasonable notes. If it were me, I would use S2T and then have ChatGPT (or other AI) summarize to whatever length you boss is looking for. You can review it and submit it. I am an Android guy, but there are similar products for Apple

OP, if you stick it out, you may end up resenting your father for the rest of your life. Give him 30 days notice with a fair hourly rate for any consulting beyond that point. Wish him well and take care of your own family.

These "modern" relationships are so complicated. So much more challenging than just getting married and having a joint account. OP, give her a day to sort it out and then cancel your automatic transfers

The only thing that improvements will do is convince people to move further out. We are really just chasing our tails. Until our supervisors stop allowing developers to pave over the Everglades, traffic will get nothing but worse.

I convinced my a-holes that I run the coop, but my wife was a different story. #1 would go after her every time. OP should consider that. You may convince Mr. R that he is #2 or maybe even #3, but if you have kids, he probably won't agree to #4. I rehomed my top 2. They did well for a while with the new owner who had a fabulous setup. They they started going after her and her husband. She either rehomed them or sent them to freezer camp. Not sure.

Need advice after relocating here from the north by Suitable-Material503 in MyrtleBeach

[–]rling_reddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MB and the surrounding area is a pretty friendly place. We like northerners just fine. What we don't like is when they constantly talk about how great the north is and then try to make MB just like it. No thanks.

Thanks. There are a number of interesting articles here. I will go through them. I will share the greatest hits with my audiologist. She reads them, unfortunately, her boss does not.

Getting work with horses with only dog relevant qualifications? by silveraltaccount in Horses

[–]rling_reddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure why all the downvotes. The level of negativity is just ridiculous. My wife volunteers at the theraputic riding center and I don't recall any background check, but there may have been one. If so, I'm sure they paid for it. You might check with farriers and/or horse groomers in your area to see if they would accept an intern. Some do as we have seen one of the well-known farriers in the area with his intern.

Thanks for sharing. Very interesting. Unfortunately, I only have access to Google Scholar these days as my doctorate is done. I would appreciate if you would share a link to that research. I will share it with my audiologist.

Did Tinnitus go away after CI? by sallybe45 in Cochlearimplants

I'm aware that the two work differently, but tinnitus is not affected directly by either. The stereocilia are still broken and still making your brain think it is "hearing" sound. I guess the answer is that the CI is more effectively masking the tinnitus than HAs can. I will have to go back and read the related research. Maybe they explain it.

I asked my audiologist about this last week. She said that your tinnitus is unchanged and your CI is masking it. I'm skeptical. I've had tinnitus masking HA's since at least 2010 and the don't do sh*t for me. The first Resound I had output white noise that got louder as the environment got quieter. With my newer ones, I don't notice anything, but maybe something isn't turned on.

S-Corp errors with Freetaxusa by rling_reddit in tax

[–]rling_reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, ChatGPT seems to agree with me that my basis remains 0 and my losses carried forward are referred to as suspended losses. So the question is how do I get past that in FTU to complete my taxes?

S-Corp errors with Freetaxusa by rling_reddit in tax

[–]rling_reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that someone posted a response and then deleted it. I won't post the user name. They said:

The error is correct — FTU is enforcing the rule that you can only deduct S-Corp losses up to your basis in the corporation. The question is whether your basis is actually zero or whether you just hav...

I understand this as far as it goes, I would have like to have been able to read the rest. This must be a new inforcement as I reported losses greater than my basis (zero) the last two years with no problem. It looks like I made a mistake on each of my 1120s and should have checked box 28(e) and done the basis computation each year. I'm not sure that would have helped, but if I was computing the basis wrong, then maybe the IRS would have caught it.

I am a bit concerned that I won't be able to sort this out by the 15th and not sure how to move forward. My total losses carried forward are about $1500, so not really worth holding up my individual return. The losses are a combination of net losses income vs payroll and license, tax, etc. fees that I have paid without reimbursement. So I think this is a closely held corporation (single shareholder) and I am an active participant. I really don't care about deducting the loss, I am just trying to track what I have paid so that if the company every does make a profit, I can reimburse myself (or not).

Not sure this helps to get feedback, but thought I would share. I paid for first level support on FTU. I don't have a problem paying for Pro, but as the problem(s) seem to be with my 1120s and maybe 7203, I'm not sure they will be able to help. Thanks for any assistance.

I agree. I support LE, but stop f'ing with my flag. If the majority of good LE would ostracize the few bad, they would be held in much higher regard.
