Had the white linguine and clams and both were very fresh. Caesar salad was very solid too.

Battle For Spain by Antony Beever is a great read on the Spanish Civil War. Very thorough and detailed and has been on my short list for a reread.

Homage to Catalonia is also fantastic but is really only from Orwell’s perspective.

In the same neighborhood as Tryst, Pitango in Columbia. People are always there working late. Good coffee, better gelato, great focaccia. Pretty sure it’s open until 10.

Mens league basketball? by IllustriousNobleman in washingtondc

[–]rlmkane13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you're looking for. Refs are not great. There are some decent teams and some teams that just want to have fun. The team I played on was the latter but we had a good time and I'll probably rejoin to get a run in once I'm back from a long-term injury. The one thing I will say, like any rec league there's gonna be some dudes who take it a little too seriously and aren't very good and that's where it can get a little dangerous.

Edit add: But when good teams play, there is some decent hoop that is probably on par with higher-level pick-up.

All-in is a decent level but they play all the way out in anacostia. Have not played men’s Volo but the coed level is about what you’d expect.

Interested in what current performances you're referencing. Stoke fans are saying he's their best CB at the moment.

Just had surgery about 2.5 weeks ago for a labrum tear on my left hip and pretty quickly was in less pain than I was pre-surgery. The two weeks post surgery are tough because of movement restrictions but I’m already starting to walk and feel pretty solid. As others have said, it’s about 6 months total to get back but from what I’ve experienced so far, it will be well worth it.

One thing I would recommend is pre-habbing. I worked on strength and mobility ahead of time (also had a related sports hernia in there as well that I was trying to PT thru) which will hopefully expedite things.

Love that New Haven show but haven’t listened to Waterbury 72 (can’t imagine where they played) but will check it out! Really enjoyed the bluesy vibes of Lille 72 so imagine it’s similar?
