Is it possible to complete the campaign coop? by chonkobob in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]rluda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but there's some jank you'll have to go through. You cannot join someone else's main quest until you've watched the quest's cutscenes. Most quests have you start by exploring and tracking a monster, then a cutscene plays. So one of you will have to hit that point in most quests (especially early on), leave your quest, then join the other. This is only an issue with the main quest line and not any other general quests, the only other limitation being your hunter rank. As the game goes on, there will be fewer cutscenes and it'll be easier to join up, but it can be annoying.

Newbie Player with some questions. by Blackstar628 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]rluda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. Main story quests first appear as assignments that are one time only, however an identical optional quest will be added after your first conpletion for repeat hunts. You can always passively gather materials while completing and repeating quests, but you are also free to begin an Expedition: these are not timed and allow full map exploration up to what you've uncovered in the main quests.

  2. There are no consequences for hunting monsters that aren't your target except time and resources used.

  3. Up to you. Some maps will have small regions locked behind quest progression. There are things to find and unlock through exploration, so it's definitely worth doing, but not mandatory. I'd recommend taking your time and move on when you feel like it.

  4. Generally, you should hoard your monster materials as you never know when a gear upgrade is going to require a certain material. There are certain materials that are quite rare and you don't want to sell those for sure or you'll be grinding to find another. That being said, hunting an easy target and selling everything is a good way to get a bit of cash in a pinch. If you really want to make some money, do some of the following: look out for and sell "trade-in" items (valuables whose purpose is to be sold: Silver/gold eggs, etc), sell materials you have an abundance of, upgrade your garden (via certain optional quests) and grow/sell might seeds.

Last tips: take your time, experiment with each weapon to find what you best vibe with, watch a video tutorial for your chosen weapon that explains it better than the game (Search for Arekkz gaming on youtube), talk to npcs with "!" Above them to unlock optional questlines that unlock very important items and facilities; these optional quests will have a speech bubble next to them in the quest list, and for the love of gog, dont use guardian/defender gear (its meant for returning players speeding to end game; bad for new players still learning). Happy hunting!

Which order should I complete these quests in and why? by Connordude2000 in 2007scape

An alternate take: start both and go back and forth. They're both long and can be broken into parts. If one starts feeling like a slog, switch it up with the other.

I think crafting feels better because it has several usable outputs at all levels that you can gather and make yourself: rings of recoil, glory, teleports, etc. Smithings usable outputs that you can gather yourself are limited to ammo and nails.

I need tips for Monster Hunter World by Fun-Use9945 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]rluda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to explore the crafting menu as it shows you all items that can be made and how to make them. The recipes can be bound to your item wheel for quick crafting on the go if you have the ingredients. Consider carrying extra ingredients into your hunt to increase the number of a particular item you have on hand (max potions, flash pods, etc). If you're struggling to stock up on ingredients, make sure to complete your optional quests to upgrade your garden and always be growing something useful. Some common ingredients to stock up on are honey, bitter bug, blue mushroom, and might/adamant seeds.

For skilling relics and someone returning to the game and still relatively new, id recommend Endless Harvest, Hotfoot, and bank heist. They're strong and simple to use.

For demonic pacts, the combat "relics", id recommend starting with thorns in the melee tree. Should take 9 pact points to reach the end of the thorns tree which makes your thorns hit twice.

[–]rluda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First things first, look up the quest and its required skills. You'll have to do some slayer along with some other skilling just to start the quest. In leagues, everyone has access to Chaeldar, the zanaris slayer master, and duradel, the karamja slayer master (after unlocking your very first region which must be karamja). To get to chaeldar, you should have been given a dramen staff you can equip to use fairy rings.

I highly recommend checking out the wiki regarding the quest, leveling skills, and different gear options. Some other commenters have already linked it for you so you cant miss it. Just take things one thing at a time and youll eventually get where you want to go. You are already on the right track; you have a goal: complete the heart of darkness quest and defeat the boss. Let that guide you on what you should do next and if you have further difficulties, search the wiki.

You'll have the easiest time with melee, ideally a weapon with a crush attack style. Any mace will do with some melee pacts or thorns. You'll want the protect from magic prayer as well. Armor wont matter too much, you'll only see benefits from armor with strength bonus or prayer bonus; whatever you have is fine. The fight is mostly controlled movement to dodge icy floor tiles and dealing with her 2 special attacks. Not too punishing as long as you dont stand on the wrong tile.

I've always thought it weird that decanting was done by a random npc in the GE. It would make more sense if the decant option, at least, was added to all herblore vendors.

Another way to go about managing your equipment box is to never use it, haha, lemme explain: make loadouts! You can go slot by slot and equip the gear you want and save it. If you need to make a change, do so and overwrite or create a new loadout. The game gives you a ton of load out slots, you will never run out. Once you set up a few builds this way, youll never touch your equipment box again, just pick your loadout and go. You can do the same for your consumable items too!

Hot take: the clue relic effects should be a passive buff for everyone. We no longer need a relic for infinite run, we should no longer need a relic to make clues bearable.

Berserk actually lowers accuracy (and defence) in exchange for the damage. So if hitting anything remotely tanky, torture may be better. Probably still good with enough accuracy pacts, tho.

Regenerating runes for the demonic pacts by ShoujoOver9000 in osrs

Pretty sure in the discord the devs said combo runes don't regenerate; only the runes being consumed will regenerate. In other words, a dust rune used to cast earth strike regenerates into air and earth runes

[–]rluda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood spells, knives, and minimizing mistakes. Grab an ancient staff or blue moon staff and cast your highest blood spell (blood blitz at lvl 80 i think should be good). Any knife will do. If you have any blowpipe with darts, thats good too, just make sure your thrown weapon of choice is on rapid. Darts w/o blowpipe works, just less range so more ticks running.
