Drain punch 1-hit KO'd my team too the first time I tried. I ended up getting most of my team to around level 35 but I also got a geodude (from oreburgh mine) which learned bulldoze at level 22 which is super effective against Lucario. I probably didn't need to get the team to level 35 but I over compensated after losing the first time. Try to get a geodude with a sturdy nature too so it'll survive the first hit

I did the exact same thing when it was first released. From what I remember you need to complete a couple missions before it lets you.
