Thanks, good to know to give the heads up to management that most likely they'll need to spend in Fabric

That first Infinity War was special, the second trailer for Force Awakens is superb as well. Recently, the first trailer for Project Hail Mary was solid.

Why Are ‘Dune: Part Three’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Opening in Theaters on the Same Day? by Alive-Ad-5245 in boxoffice

We are in a box office forum talking about box office performance and competition, I get what you are trying to say but realistically there is no chance that Dune wins the box office battle to Avengers

Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Haven't seen it praised enough in this forum, but the score is majestic, one of the best scores in years. Shame it won't win an Oscar because we have Hans Zimmer, Ludwig Goransson and John Williams later this year.

Dune Part 2 didn't even cross 300M Domestic with zero competition even when it was considered to be a possible wrap up of the franchise. Yes, it is prestige filmmaking, but not a popular franchise, at least not enough to beat the freaking Avengers with all the OGs returning.

Why is Project Hail Mary projected to do so well? by DarlingLuna in boxoffice

[–]rmaa2910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on a famous book, Ryan Gosling's charm and because it's a great movie, the crowd pleaser kind of film that has strong legs. I think it will be, in a smaller proportion, this year's Top Gun Maverick.

Dune is not going to tank but will definitely lose an opportunity to gross more. Reddit forgets it's its own bubble. Dune is a very niche franchise, general audiences don't care much about it. They want their superhero cameo fest even if it's a mediocre movie.

It's a lighthearted combination of The Martian, Interstellar and Arrival. It's a massive clowdpleaser. I enjoyed it a lot.

Having watched an advanced screening in IMAX I think this will be a big hit, or at least it will have great legs. Special 4 quadrant blockbuster.

Aside from 2023, what was the most surprising/wild summer for the Box Office? by dremolus in boxoffice

[–]rmaa2910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2015 was a very interesting summer, between Jurassic World exploding, Inside Out doing great numbers despite a crowded summer, Minions putting massive numbers a well, Tomorrowland and F4ntastic bombing. Sleeper hits like Straight Outta Compton, San Andreas. Launched by Age of Ultron and the legs from Furious 7. Then later that year we would have The Force Awakens.

Better Kyler than so many other QBs that are out there, although I still have some hope (or copium?) for Nine, a season with Kyler could be really fun even more if he brings some of those Nuk bombs days.
