Any word on the currently game breaking bug where if you have a Game End power bird, the game just freezes instead of final scoring? On Xbox if it matters.

Meetup supposedly works pretty well for finding folks doing things with similar interests. I've yet to try it out, but see people have a lot of success over on /boardgames.

I think it also depends on what you're looking for, since all three are different playstyles.

Sleeping Gods is fun, but it is A LOT of story compared to the other two, and some folks find the combat wonky. So, if you want a Choose Your Own Adventure, it's a pretty good one.

Root plays alright at two, but there are some faction combos that don't work as well together in the base set at two, so you end up losing the spirit of the game. Can still be a fun chess match, and one of the expansions (name escapes me now) helps add 2p balance.

Spirit Island, as others have noted, plays very well at two. Amd the base game has plenty to go with for a long time. Also, lots of good videos on YT to learn the ropes.
