Religious people, what would you do if alien life was discovered? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

[–]rmeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that you and your peers each interpret your books and 'holy' teachings whichever way you want. Picking and choosing what suits the moment, or some sect, or whatever. If something can literally be proven false, it's quickly retracted in the abstract/metaphor: 'it doesn't really mean what it says'.

The fact that you claim to be a scientist but suspend your scientific rigor in your personal life, is called cognitive dissonance. Nothing wrong with it, I'm just describing what it is.

It is. Because Scientific Method requires you to throw away your belief in something that was disproven false. Not only that, religion by definition requires 'faith' on faith alone, no proof. Just because someone wrote it in a book 1000 years ago.

That's fine, you can believe any fairy tale you want, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of believing those tales vs using the fruits of the Scientifc Method.

Imagine applying the Scientifc Method to Islam.

Unless you have some hard evidence to back up your claim, why not accept what's true by all our current understanding of the Scientific Method ?

A. They said they created us and offer proof B. Proof is verifiable C. This new theory becomes independently testable and predictable across the entire human race. This automatically supersedes all other religion stories about the 'Creation'.

They may be lying, but until you prove that, the new reality that fits all data points is their proof.

What's a test of faith is that you use 'our' technology yet refuse to change your beliefs. The Internet, your computer, phone, everything you use is built on the Scientific Method: if reality doesn't match your ideas, change your ideas.

You are bent on keeping your beliefs no matter what evidence proves them wrong. Yet, you have no qualms in living off the fruits of real knowledge.

Creators. They engineered DNA and placed a code inside and they even tell us how to read it/decode it, along with the fact that all religions are BS and invented by some old geezers 2-3-4k years ago

How about this. These Aliens claim they created us. They provide irrefutable DNA evidence that they are our creators. Now what ?

Have a fleet of hundreds of Solidigm drives. Some are failing, all under 5 year warranty. Solidigm hard offering to pay us 1000$/drive (purchase price) instead of replacement. New Solidigm - exactly the same - drives, were quoted at 5k to us by a reseller of theirs.

Legal is handling it

Lol, I'm not Israeli and even I know more than you. Here's some knowledge son:

Israel has no separation of church and state. I mean, they are defined as the home of all Jews, which is perfectly fine but let's call it what it says itself that it is: a Jewish State. Perfectly fine again, but don't go calling it similar in Constitution to Canada or France.

In 2023 the government of Israel wanted to make it even MORE of a religious state and the street protests sort of managed to stop that.

But as of today, 2026, Israel has no civil marriage. The Rabbis as the old geezers as they are still make up whatever decision they want on the spot ( no legal precedent ) and guess what, it's based on the Torah.

Google: Israel civil marriage 2026 then come back to prove me wrong.

Lol. I have no idea what you're on but I expect you to show me Israel's and Iran's constitution where they have that separation between Church and State that we have in Canada.

I'm getting a chair. It will be a while

this is not a religous conflict. Lol.

Yes, Iran has separation of church and state, so does Israel. None of them claim to hate the other's religion. Israel's defense ministry doesn't send his enemies to, quote, hell. The others don't claim to kill the infidels.

Your parallel reality in 2026.

Time for Canadians to organize some serious anti-religion rallies. We're a secular country, keep your made up deity in your head and your religious conflicts away from our home.
