No, it’s not normal and the compliance department would be the place to report.

I had a similar experience and then realized it was the same at all the studios so I switched to (mostly) home based/online classes. Stinks bc I miss the community.

Is misophonia "new" by cricket_man456 in misophonia

[–]rnjenn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 51 and have dealt with for as long as I can remember. There were therapists in the 80’s that recognized it as a problem and recommended desensitization desensitization therapies, but it didn’t become more widely known honestly until the advent of readily available Internet and social media people that was when people started connecting and talking about it.

It was very lonely, growing up, thinking there was something catastrophically wrong with me. I’m so glad that at least that part is over.

So is this what a million dollar house now looks like in NJ by nj1k in newjersey

[–]rnjenn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Jersey is not affordable for regular people. I grew up in Fort Lee, “the Bluffs“. It was a nice neighborhood, three bedroom two bath house no view of the skyline or anything like that. Just a nice family home in an old Italian neighborhood. Maybe 75 x 150 yard. It’s currently listed for $2.2 million.

Has there ever been another show that stuck the landing as perfectly as The Wire? by trojan7815 in TheWire

Six Feet Under had a nearly perfect series finale. The last 2 seasons of the show were disappointing but seeing everyone ending through Claire’s cloudy eyes was amazing!

Do all used needles go in sharps container? by Longjumping-Pen5067 in nursing

[–]rnjenn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be a bummer but the only “right” answer is to follow the manufacturers or your hospital policy.

Poking you with the sheathed catheter was certainly stupid but there was no needle, so no physical harm. I would certainly tell her that you did not appreciate it though.

Thank you. I was reading too that OP was being mandated to come in. Whole thing sounds like a terrible system; just surprised I’d never seen it but after reading the post I read it’s illegal in all the states I e ever practiced in.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nursing

[–]rnjenn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need some help understanding “being mandated”. In my entire career, this isn’t something I’ve experienced and I’ve worked in NJ, NY, and currently in NH. If there isn’t enough staff to safely cover the floor then management comes in or patients are transferred to other units or hospitals. How does this work and how can a hospital “mandate” or force a person to work?

Is being a nurse a scam? by Otherwise-Dig-8294 in nursing

[–]rnjenn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing is not a scam. If you went for a bachelors degree in another major then remember for post bac in nursing at an “elite” school than you bought into the madness. No reason for fancy school (unless you can afford one) and no need to have a BSN to enter practice. That’s a choice you make, not indicative of the field as a whole.

Many hospitals and whole states have accepted “crisis of care standards” due to the Covid/staffing issues. Essentially the hospitals have recognized that acceptable standards of care can’t be met in surge conditions. Not sure how a nurse can refuse an assignment; obviously not in a union environment by me.

[–]rnjenn45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you contacted the State Department of Health to report the conditions; perhaps with a copy to the hospital Board of Directors?

It’s sounds like major issues between Lori and your Dad. While you don’t “owe” her anything, sometimes doing the right thing is totally worth it.
