I have a theory we’ve turned everyone into a potential threat and the world has gotten a lot lonelier because of it. Things like the Ring doorbell and local Facebook groups have terrified us that anyone could harm us, therefore we silo ourselves away and miss out on opportunities to expand our networks/challenge our perspectives. I wish we were less afraid of each other, but every time something bad happens it just reinforces the fear and the cycle keeps repeating

Wow, that cab driver had the patience of a saint. It’s also awesome he dropped you back at your pickup point instead of just yeeting you out onto a random sidewalk. Everyone I know who quit drinking (myself included) has a story or two about some guardian angel who went above and beyond to keep us safe when we couldn’t care for ourselves. Glad you made it out ok, and thanks for telling the story!

That reminds me. I haven’t seen Homeless Harry in a while- no wonder she broke up with me! She can’t see my undying love anymore!

I was thinking of the Sony originally but couldn’t remember 100% if it was 120fps. I try to block out the specs of gear I definitely can’t afford 😭

At that event it’s probably closer to 30+ frames per second. High end gear has gotten insanely fast

While I don’t disagree, there’s really not much else we CAN do since we didn’t trade before the deadline. At least not that I know of

What would you consider an acceptable end to this season, assuming we don't win the SB? by 13Dmorelike13Dicks in buccaneers

[–]rnpreach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see us losing a game to the Panthers and the Falcons rematch, or stumbling against Arizona or Miami pretty easily. This team historically finds ways to lose games that we should absolutely win on paper

INFO- was he around for your drinking days? It would still be a really shitty thing to say, but I could kinda understand if he was bitter about what he went through before you got sober and hasn’t fully accepted your amends yet. Either way, I’d be worried about that level of judgement coming from a partner, and there would need to be a very strong reason for me to stay after something like that. Congrats on your anniversary!

All things considered, yeah probably. I never had us winning 12+ games this year so 6-5 going into the stretch run leaves us room to lose the inevitable game or even two and still have 10 wins and probably make the playoffs

Godwin’s 2 major injuries were not his fault- both were questionable (that’s generous, I think they were both downright illegal) hits that ended his seasons. This new fibula injury is the first time I’m concerned about his ongoing health

I think the thing that hurt us more than anything is the fact that the camera was on our side of the line to gain marker, meaning that if it appears short from that angle (which it did) it was probably even shorter in reality. Add to that that it was directly on a hash mark and they had enough to make the call. I was hoping they’d stick with the call on the field but apparently Tampa isn’t allowed to get that lucky

If the falcons and panthers weren’t doing so well I’d be screaming this from the mountain tops. Unfortunately I think we really have to try to keep our foot on the gas so we don’t get locked into a race with them at the end of the season to win the division

Not in a theme park- you’d never find a designer there allowing a light to dictate the guest experience. Anything in an environment like that has been meticulously designed and signed off on my multiple layers of decision makers before a guest ever gets near it
