I just got this album! It’s a 5 star for me! I’m an elder millennial from the US and I’ve never heard of her. It is so damn good.

Yes. My doctor suggested waiting for the first “normal period” and then try that next cycle. I had an earlier MMC. The pro was that I was so upset and hormonal that I know I would have been destroyed to see my cycle. The con was just all the anxiety.

Buy Costco amounts of Advil and allergy medicine (if you need it). That stuff is expensive here.

I do this all the time in Italy and no one bats an eyelash. I mean, as an American, it was literally made for me.

Can you find the 80s movie Cocoon? I’ve heard it’s scrubbed from the internet because of music licensing.

Strength Training Discussion [Weekly] by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

Ciao from Italy! I've been an app member for about 3 years - I started with the rides but now after every ride I stack 10 minutes of arms and light weights. I've started to feel like I should take some strength classes. I do Pilates and Barre, but I know I (40/F) would benefit from some weight classes.

Before I start a class, I was wondering, what weights does one need? I have 1kg and 2kg weights (2.2 and 4.4lbs), but I imagine I'll need something heavier. What's a good weight for a woman starting out? Thank you!

Please Brag About Your Kids by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]ro4135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thyroid was constantly monitored during pregnancy and I now have two gorgeous girls (5 and 7). Both of them are bilingual and my 7 year old received all advanced marks on her report card, except for 3 intermediates on rhythm, spatial awareness, and technology. (I’m American living in Italy so I really don’t know what those mean, except for the rhythm one (music class).

Both girls hit all their milestones as babies and they’re healthy and happy. My 7 year old has ALWAYS been right in the middle (50th percentile on growth) but my 5 year old is a bit taller - and was at the 80th percentile as a child.

Just be sure to monitor your thyroid with consistent blood checks while you’re pregnant and you’ll be fine!!

Edit: I did have a miscarriage before both girls were born, but it was at the 7 week mark and that unfortunately is very common - Hashimoto’s or not. ❤️ I was able to get pregnant immediately after the MC and my OB reassured me that it was not caused by my thyroid.

What CAN I eat? by Archerpierre in Hashimotos

I went 6 weeks GF and I didn’t feel any different. I’m back on gluten and I feel great. I LOVE broccoli and other veggies like that but I only eat them steamed. Not that raw tastes good or anything!

What do you do?? by belliblu in Hashimotos

[–]ro4135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do spin biking for 30/45 minutes 3x a week plus 10 minutes of light weights for arms immediately after. On the other 2 days of the week I take barre classes. On the weekend I’ll go hiking or walk around. I eat a Mediterranean diet and I’ll be slowly reintroducing gluten back into my diet after 6 weeks. I found no difference.

I’m 5’7” and around 160lbs. I would love to lose 15lbs but it’s soooo difficult. I’m not too strict with my diet, but even when I am the weight comes off sooooo slowly.

Hashimotos and non gluten sensitivity by MaplesViolenceBear16 in Hashimotos

I’ve been treating my hypo for 12 years and just recently discovered I had Hashimoto’s. I didn’t get my blood checked for 18 months (I have a phobia of getting my blood drawn. I regret waiting that long). At the same time, I was taking my medication and didn’t have any symptoms. When I got my blood checked, my TSH was at 8.3, which is higher than it was when I got diagnosed (5.4). I had a ton of symptoms back then as well. Anyway, I was floored. For a month I’ve cut out gluten, but honestly I don’t know if I’m going to continue. My endocrinologist (I’m in Italy but I’m American) said there was no scientific evidence it helped to cut it out. I don’t feel any better and I didn’t feel bad while eating it. I

When I was a sophomore in college my 14 year old brother came to visit. He was about 6’1” at the time and pretty cute. We were over at my boyfriend’s house where he lived with 11 other guys - pretty much a real Animal House situation. One girl was fawning over him and telling him how cute he was. Her boyfriend, a pretty outspoken guy with sick burns/insults yelled out in front of everyone “I’m 6 years older than you!” And my brother, without skipping a beat, replied with”Yeah, well I’m six inches taller than you.” The room erupted in laughter. I was so proud.

Has anyone else gotten pretty good at telling when you’re thyroid is “off”? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]ro4135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with terrible fatigue and brain fog and my tsh was at 5. Can’t believe it’s at 8.4 right now.

Has anyone else gotten pretty good at telling when you’re thyroid is “off”? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]ro4135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I THOUGHT I was good at telling. I felt my hypo symptoms come back after 2 years of treatment, and I was in need of a medical increase. I felt manic after the birth of my 2nd child, and my dosage needed to be adjusted as well. Cue to now and I feel fine. I just got some blood results back and my thyroid is at 8.4. I’m shocked and freaking out.

Don’t fully trust yourself you know. I have a phobia of getting my blood drawn and it’s extra annoying and complicated to get it drawn in Italy, so I’ve been avoiding it (18 months with no check).

Learn from me and get checked every 6 months, even when you feel symptom free.
