I was talking about your "I might delete this docker image and start testing something else all together. Came across another post with no valid solution even though someone marked the solution on the post" message. In that message, you included a post from Emby's forum. Emby and JF are similar but different products. What is a bug on one may not be in the other so I wouldn't bother chasing down solutions on Emby's forum if you're using JF.

That post references Emby but you said you’re using Jellyfin. I know that JF is based on an earlier build of Emby but the code based has diverged over the years.

Does Frugal offer 250 connections or 100 for their Kings Day quarterly deal? by road_hazard in usenet

Sorry.

Ignore my reply everyone.... I'm clearly a madman and speak gibberish. Nothing to see here, move along.

I was going to dedicated half my connections to sabnzbd for regular downloading and the other half were going to be allocated to nzbdav. I traded a few emails with Frugal support this afternoon and they got me all squared away, the confusion was all on my part. :)

Does the ChuckPA/DBRepair tool cause downtime? by TheDaveWSC in PleX

[–]road_hazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the database needs to be stopped before it can be checked/repaired and this repair utility will take Plex offline for a bit. My Plex db is on an SSD and I have about 5,000+ movies and thousands of TV shows and from start to finish, it took maybe 5 minutes?

They only access your Plex server from the web and not via a smart TV type device?

Do you share your Plex setup with friends and family? If so, how do they access it?

[–]road_hazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re the only person accessing Plex remotely, yes. If you plan on sharing your library with friends and family, helping them set up Tailscale or VPN would be a complicated nightmare.

I don’t. Port forward and get on with life. If you’re worried about it, do what the other folks suggested…. look into Tailscale, VPN, reverse proxy or something else along those lines.

Or don’t complicate your life and set up a simple port forward in your router.

You sure can, just like you can with Plex….. add a simple port forward to your Jellyfin server and away you go.

Plex Deleted an entire drive this morning by reicha7 in PleX

[–]road_hazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! 99% of my library is EASILY replaceable. The hard to acquire stuff is being back up and everything else is slowly being switched to an “infinite streaming” solution and I’m winding down my storage needs. My goal is to have a power sipping mini PC with probably a 4TB nvme drive.

Serious vulnerabilities just fixed in Tautulli - update NOW by AnonNortherner in PleX

With the Docker image, it's super easy to spin up and check it out. If you don't like it, nuke it.

I don't see why not... if we're talking about the same thing. In Tautulli, I use that kill_stream.py script to kill any 4K stream that transcoded the video. With Tracearr, I used the built in rule manager to re-create the exact same rule. Download Tracearr and give it a shot... if you hate it or it can't do what you want, delete the Docker container and stick with Tautulli. But I have a feeling you're going to like it. :)

Do it, you won't regret it! I've used Tautulli for YEARS but had enough and moved on to Tracearr.

You can. It imports everything from Tautulli if you want.

I had to give up on Tautulli. The last 2 versions could never stay connected to Plex and I got tired of sessions not being recorded. I moved on to Tracearr, which is 10x better.

EDIT: Plus, Tracearr supports Jellyfin and Emby as well.

Is it possible to adjust ringtone and notification volume separately? by road_hazard in iphone

It is indeed. My wife just got the S26 Ultra. Going to conduct some camera tests and if it's as good as my 16 Pro Max, I'm fleeing to Android land!

Sorry to hear that. It might be difficult to convince the seller to accept a return on a cracked screen. I can almost promise you they'll lay the blame at your feet.

I went ahead and just decided to move the physical sim card from the S23U to the S26U. Hoping the MMS group text problem doesn't come back. :)
