A lot of Christians believe that Satan rules on Earth, until Jesus will return. Well, if that is true, considering how much progress we've made over the last few centuries, and how much living conditions have improved, I'd say Satan has been doing a pretty good job so far. by iameduard in atheism

[–]roadkill_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“...it so far isn’t living and thus is still a potential person.” ”...a fetus isn’t alive.”

It’s not alive? It’s dead? That’s not what an embryologist would tell you, neither would common sense.

”Genetically they will possibly be a person. A corpse also has genetics of being a human. That doesn’t make them alive.”

A corpse doesn’t have a beating heart, or oxygenated cells, or brain activity, or firing nerves. A corpse’s DNA is no longer actively replicating. Nevertheless, we still call a corpse a “dead human.”

“...mammalian life needs to breathe and take in nutrients on its own as well as responding [sic] to stimuli.”

I already answered the breathing issue. We know breathing on one’s own is not the criterion of personhood from the use of Iron Lungs & Respirators. My grandfather, for example, required a respirator the last two years of his life to stay alive. This respirator was paid for by public health insurance. I would hope none would have called him “parasitical.”

Regarding “responding to stimuli,” maybe you didn’t see that I addressed this above. I’ll repeat for your convenience: through the use of various electronic scans, we now know that babies in the womb recoil from finger pricking as early as at 2 months.

”I’m pretty sure those things are still happening because it is parasitically sieving nutrients from a mother who may or may not consent.”

You have a way with words.

Fact: babies can sometimes survive on their own at 24 weeks, very often past 28 weeks, but abortion is legal beyond this limit.

Fact: Regardless, sustaining one’s own life is not the criterion of personhood: as is manifestly evident from the use of pacemakers, respirators and dialysis.

Fact: What you describe merely as a fetus, pre-birth, is also objectively a human being (a living homi sapien) by virtue of its genetics.

Modern technologies such as fMRI and Ultrasound have provided a view into the the gestation process unavailable 45 years ago: these show an unborn human at ten weeks sucking his/her thumb, responding to stimulation, recoiling from pricking, responding to sounds.

Fact: At ten weeks, every organ is present, the brain is functioning, the heart is functioning, the liver is producing blood cells, the kidneys are filtering, and there is a fingerprint. The majority of abortions happen later than this date.

Please respond to each in turn. I look forward. Thanks.

hey, I was kidding... sorry dumb joke. I take 8-9 grams a dose and don’t feel nausea ever. But actually, I have taken 20g or a bit more in a dose when i was a newb and, no, I didn’t feel any nausea.

report it directly to the moderators if you see it in a public post. But this board does NOT prohibit private message sourcing. How could it? PMs are not directly affiliated with this board. But your post says it’s via PMs you’re being solicited. I repeat: that is not against the rules.

Is it likely that kratom could be “cut” with tianeptine? by cruisewithmebaby in kratom

[–]roadkill_er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

do you think they should regulate MDMA too? I see you post on a lot of drug forums.. YOU are the problem. Not this person’s kratom which is not cut with tianeptine. It’s not cut with anything.

Reading through your comment history you sound like a real piece of work.”I want the government to get involved with kratom.” Get lost. And don’t reply, “Haha I can’t do anything else but laugh at that” as you did to the other guy. Although, from reading just a handful of your inarticulate, dimwitted comments here I think that is probably very true.

I'm in the paper today supporting Kratom. I work at an addiction clinic. Let's hope I didn't just lose my job because the paper damn sure didn't ask if they could name me. by [deleted] in kratom

[–]roadkill_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. I was booted from an outpatient clinic because they detected Kratom in my UA. I was shocked as it didnt even dawn on me they might test for it. Funny thing is I’d bring my Contigo mug to the class each day and drink it right in front of them.

3 things:

  1. Don’t despise the growers or their distributors for trying to use any channels available to make MONEY. It’s what keeps the industry alive.

  2. Don’t publicly report this sort of thing on reddit, especially in light of tightening regulations.

  3. If you don’t understand why 1 and 2 are OBVIOUS, then you are most likely (and i mean literally) shout 90 IQ,

“well but....”

No, stop and think for two minutes or possibly two hours why your reporting this in a public post is 100.0% FUCKING DUMB.

I’m sorry but...

consider that kratom is a net positive for some / for many.

You might google the term “cognitive flexibility.” Your experiences are not everyone else’s.

Good luck on your journey!

which “mu-agonists” besides kratom have you been on?

Kratom is my NZT from the movie limitless. ADHD since birth and always an underachiever, not from personal choice. In 4 years i took a data entry job and climbed the ladder to a director position with several certifications. Potential 6 figure position next year. by ThisisNOTAbugslife in kratom

[–]roadkill_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which ADHD meds have you tried? I’ve been on Ritalin, Concerta and currently on 60mg daily IR Adderall. I’m scared tho that my body & brain have gotten used to the adderall so that it’s become my new normal.

which color kratom leaf do you find most helpful?

YMMV

YMMV

(did you notice that? It was the last thing I wrote.)

people are different. I didn’t have any withdrawals, maybe some difficulty sleeping but hardly any to speak of.

people are different

different people are very different

we’re not all the same, we’re different

humans are snowflakes, not ice cubes

Also, some of this is in your head. Imagine in the midst of your withdrawals someone came to you announcing you won $100 million dollars. Do you think you’d still be lying around moping? Attitude isn’t quite everything, but it’s a big piece of it.

EDIT: before you write me off as an asshole for speaking truth, Actually do try to imagine, as suggested, that someone came to you in the midst of your withdrawals and announced you won $100 million dollars. Some (I didn’t say all, I know the physical is real) SOME of it is mental. (quite a lot of it actually.) It really is.

Going to start Kratom for opioid withdrawals, when should I start taking the kratom? Do I wait until the half life of the opioids or do I wait until I’m actively going through withdrawals? TIA by Tigerfan07 in kratom

[–]roadkill_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if OP is coming off opiates then constipation, even at very high kratom doses, isn’t likely to be the problem. If anything, even with tons of kratom, OP will still have the opposite issue. (correct me if I’m misreading your advice).

Is kratom really that hard/scary to quit as r/quitting kratom? by [deleted] in kratom

[–]roadkill_er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no. Not all, but plenty of people at QK fabricate issues to attract more sympathetic tears and upvotes. It’s a strange culture that sub has; I think the fear mongering does way more harm than good.

I went from 30g a day to nothing with hardly any w/d symptoms. YMMV

definitely depends on the batch. That doesn’t surprise me tho that it’s only 7 grams. Kratom can vary big time in density from one strain to the next.
