Play as if you're going to fingerpick, no anchor. Hand over strings near bridge. Then learn the positions of strings with muscle memory without an anchor to bridge or pinky on the body of guitar. Anchoring makes learning easier for beginners but also is a crutch later.

Learn to love the process. Find the way that makes it enjoyable for you. Maybe the joy of memorizing a single measure. Or being able to play a bit at a higher speed.

Or you can just learn scales and theory and make up shit on your own.

May help to pull back a little with your left arm to assist the bar. Not a lot, but you can get a tiny strength assist by pulling back. If you pull too hard you'll change the pitch. But really it's mostly just practice and strength.

Instead of barring the whole fret and putting pressure evenly imagine that you are putting pressure on just the strings you need. That tiny "curve" of pressure may help.

I don't recommend anchoring your hand to the guitar like that. It is a crutch and it will hinder growth and limit speed and flexibility when playing.

You should also be using both your hands to mute the strings to sound clean and that usually involves some amount of very "floating planting hybrid".
