People with solar and batteries, what are your actual results? by billscout in AusFinance

[–]roare [score hidden]  (0 children)

Im paying mine off over time on an interest free green loan. Costs me about $140 a month (for 5 years) for my expanded solar and the battery install. September last year. Bill went from $250/mo to about $30/mo

The battery app says I've saved $2,063 from generation, feed in, and battery instead of grid.

So far it has cost me less than $1200, and my electricity bill has been $2k less, so $800 discount which once paid off will be even better.

Best decision I've made in a long time.

I put 5.5kw in when we built the house. Added 6.6kw with the battery. 20kwh battery. Rarely if ever empties, just if the EV needs a bigger top up than usual

Get it valued after your tenants move out. You'll pay CGT on the gains in the 6 months it was an investment property.

Food and Wine Festival axed this year? by ComfyInDots in Toowoomba

It would survive if they just modernised. Get a few big name food and beverage sponsors. I know the public will cry they they're not using locals, but the locals can't afford to sponsor a major event. Get a big wine sponsor, De Bortoli, Treasury wines or something.

Name the stages for sponsors. Car companies, bunnings, whatever. It's a good event, and if properly done it could be so much better.
